Fans Believe Marvel Is Making Up For Fox’s Mistreatment Of Cyclops In X-Men ’97
As X-Men ’97 has finally dropped its first two episodes fans are excited to watch their favorite animated series after a long wait. The massive success of the 1992-released X-Men: The Animated Series paved the path for the recently launched series. With the revival series, fans are expecting the superhero franchise to behave in a fair manner with one of the most popular characters from the mutant franchise. Scott Summers aka Cyclops, one of the founding members of the mutant team is a fan-favorite character.
The X-Men ’97 series appears to redeem and restore the true power and glory of Cyclops, as fans believe that the character is finally getting the respect it richly deserves. According to the fans Marvel is eventually making up for the ill-treatment of Cyclops in the Fox movies. A fan even posted on X, previously known as Twitter-
I feel like one of the main objectives set for this revival was to glaze Cyclops as much as humanly possible to make up for what the last 20 years did to his image in the eyes of the general public
And brother, its fucking WORKING. https://t.co/XZWULtihcg

How The X-Men Franchise Ruined The Character Of Cyclops?
American actor James Marsden became the face of Cyclops in the 20th Century Fox-led X-Men live-action adaptation movies. One of the biggest complaints of fans from the studio was the untimely death of Scott Summers aka Cyclops in the 2006 released X-Men: The Last Stand. The death of Cyclops by his love interest Jean Gray, was unexpected and came as a shock for the fans. Known as one of the strongest superheroes in the mutant team, the character of Cyclops was merely reduced to a supporting role in the live-action movies.
With the speculation around Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool & Wolverine bringing back X-Men characters, fans believe that James Marsden’s Cyclops might return to the project. During a recent interview with The Playlist, James Marsden was asked about the possibility of reprising the character of Cyclops in the upcoming installment of Deadpool. While talking about whether Deadpool and Cyclops would get along, the actor said-
No, I think those are two opposite characters, but I feel they respect each other. I know I keep hearing about that but I can’t walk down the street without someone asking me about that.
The 20th Century Fox started strong but failed to remain consistent for a long time before Disney acquired it and came up with the proposal of a mutant storyline from the MCU umbrella, which never came to fruition.
