Alita: Battle Angel Star Wants More World-Building in Sequel: “That’s seriously been something in my heart”
2019’s Alita: Battle Angel was a huge success both at the box office and in terms of critical reception. And inevitably talks of a sequel have been making rounds for a long time. The filmmakers have shared their thoughts on it but as of now, there is no official announcement confirming it.
Recently one of its cast members Lana Condor who plays the character of Koyomi revealed what she felt about the film in general and her opinion on a sequel. Condor seems eager to reprise her role and get back into the Cyberpunk world once again.
Lana Condor Reveals She Wants an Alita: Battle Angel Sequel For Exploring Its World Further
It’s been 4 years since the Robert Rodriguez-directed cyberpunk film Alita: Battle Angel came out. It was undoubtedly a hit among the fans and viewers as it successfully collected a shipping of 405 million dollars at the box office worldwide against a budget of around 150-200 million dollars.
As with any successful film, the idea of a sequel has naturally surfaced since the first came out. Rodriguez and James Cameron have revealed a plan for a sequel. But no official announcement has been out confirming this yet.
Talking with Comicbook.com, one of its cast members Lana Condor recently shared her thoughts on a sequel. And she seems ready for it saying,
“that’s seriously been something in my heart that I’m hoping would start up the conversation again”
Apart from Condor, her co-stars Rosa Salazar and Christoph Waltz have also expressed similar feelings. The To All Boys I’ve Loved Before star plays the role of Koyomi. As for the filmmakers, Rodriguez also seems to be on the same wavelength regarding the sequel as he earlier shared,
“Yeah, we have been talking about it, so we would love to make one.”
However, the sequel has not reached a green light as far as the available information goes.

A Brief Look at Alita: Battle Angel
Released back in 2019, Alita: Battle Angel is a post-apocalyptic cyberpunk film based on the manga Gunnm by Yukito Kishiro. The storyline revolves around a young cyborg named Alita (Rosa Salazar) who one day wakes up with no memory of her past self in the future she does not recognize at all.
Amid all this, she is taken in by a doctor named Ido who helps her reassemble her body parts and teaches her about the ways of living in the world post-apocalyptic world they reside in.
