The comparison derived from Soros’ disclosure of dumping a substantial amount of Tesla stock, prompting Musk to claim that Soros hates humanity. This Twitter rivalry quickly garnered significant attention, shedding light on the unintentional consequences of such provocative remarks.
The entrepreneur often associated with the fictional genius Tony Stark (Iron Man), did not initially explain his offensive tweet.
However, it coincided with a regulatory filing revealing Soros’ family office’s complete divestment from Tesla and another electric vehicle maker, Rivian.
Musk’s tweet “Soros reminds me of Magneto,” drew criticism from progressive activist Brian Krassenstein, highlighting the shared background of both Soros and Magneto as survivors of the Holocaust. He shared,
“Magneto’s experiences during the Holocaust as a survivor shaped his perspective as well as his depth and empathy. Soro [sic], also a Holocaust survivor, get’s [sic] attacked nonstop for his good intentions which some Americans think are bad merely because they disagree with this [sic] political affiliations.”
In response, Musk eventually expressed regret and issued an apology for his comparison. The controversial tweet generated a significant response on social media, accumulating thousands of likes and millions of views.
This incident not only sparked a controversial debate but also underscored the need for responsible communication from influential figures.
Elon Musk Appolized For His Magneto Tweet
The CEO of Twitter recently found himself at the center of a social media firestorm after his tweet comparing billionaire Soros to the X-Men supervillain Magneto.
The tweet explodes an intense debate, prompting Elon Musk to address the potential insensitivity and unintended consequences of his words. However, instead of a sincere apology, Musk chose a more light-hearted approach, offering a joking apology that only further fueled the controversy.

In response, Musk posted two follow-up tweets, the first acknowledging the need to apologize for his previous post, and the second playfully dismissing the seriousness of the situation by stating “It was really unfair to Magneto.”
Despite criticism and accusations of anti-jewish sentiment, Musk remained unyielding in his stance. In an interview with CNBC, he defended his right to express his opinions freely, he said,
“I’ll say what I want to say and if the consequence of that is losing money, so be it.”
Moreover, he defended his controversial interactions on Twitter, including his engagement with conspiracy theorists discussing a recent mass shooting in Texas.
