Amber Heard’s Ex Elon Musk – World’s Richest Man Worth $203B – Reportedly Considering Making Everyone Pay Him To Use Twitter
On Monday, November 8, Twitter’s new owner, Elon Musk, announced a new set of user guidelines. Elon Musk, the free speech supporter, has come under fire for sacking approximately 50% of Twitter’s global staff and instituting an $8 monthly fee for keeping a verified account.
Elon Musk and Amber Heard have been friends for nearly ten years, but they didn’t start dating until much later, despite the SpaceX founder’s interest in the Aquaman actress beginning in 2012. The former pair first appeared together often throughout 2016, which led to romance suspicions. In April 2017, they made their relationship public.
Elon Musk and Heard dated intermittently in the months that followed their four-month breakup in August 2017, but their romance ended permanently in January 2018.
Despite Musk openly saying that he and Heard have no animosity toward one another, controversy has followed their breakup. In May 2022, Depp brought up Musk and Heard’s romance during his defamation case. More recently, the actress’ Twitter account disappeared when Musk bought the social media platform.
Elon Musk says Blue Check Authentication for Twitter Will Cost $8 per Month.
After an earlier rumor suggested he would want even more for the privilege, Twitter CEO Elon Musk now says he intends to charge customers $8 per month to keep their verification badge or get one on the network.
According to a Platformer report, Musk intends to charge “most or all users a membership fee to use Twitter” and add a Twitter Blue subscription price for blue ticks, and other features.
According to the article, staff addressed this concept during the internal team meeting. Rumors say Musk intends to only let users access Twitter for a specific amount of time each month; after that, users will be required to purchase a Twitter membership to continue using the service.
Given that Musk is already highly occupied with his “Twitter Blue” project, it currently appears doubtful that Twitter would implement this subscription proposal.

Twitter’s “societal duty” to provide a “platform for free expression throughout the world,” according to Musk, is now not being fulfilled. He surveyed his 81 million followers on Twitter about this in March. He warned that failure to uphold free speech values “fundamentally threatens democracy” given that Twitter acts as the de facto public town square. He says he is the best person to turn Twitter into a private firm and that it “has to be changed as a private corporation.”
Talking Points Memo creator Josh Marshall tweeted, “I think they’re going to be in for a nasty surprise for how many people will pay $20 a month for a blue check.”
Beyond notable personalities declaring they would leave the service, Musk’s first few days as owner of Twitter have been tumultuous. Many senior executives, including CEO Parag Agrawal, were instantly sacked by him. In addition, he intends to fire 25% of the workforce, according to The Washington Post.
