“It’s our miracle anniversary”: Amidst Britney Spears Belittling Own Family, Estranged Sister Jamie Lynn Talks How She Almost Lost Daughter Maddie in What Looks Like a Cruelly Fabricated PR Stunt
Jamie Lynn Spears, the younger sister of Britney Spears, is making headlines because she is one of the stars who took part in Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. The Zoey 101 actress sat down for an interview with Page Six, where she opened up about her daughter Maddie Briann Aldridge, 14, who understands she’s lucky to be alive after surviving a near-fatal ATV accident five years ago.
In November 2022, Britney Spears also shared on Twitter how traumatized she was when she thought her niece Maddie had died after an ATV accident in Kentwood, Louisiana, in February 2017. The pop sensation, however, is belittling her family constantly through her racy social media posts. Despite Britney Spears’ husband Sam Asghari’s concerns about her posting several NSFW photos on Instagram, she is unstoppable in doing such acts on social media. She is not sparing her parents, either, dissing them on social media.
Jamie Lynn Spears Shares Her Daughter’s Thoughts On The Tragic Accident From The Past
The 31-year-old actress Jamie Lynn Spears told Page Six exclusively about her daughter Maddie’s lookout at the horrific near-fatal ATV accident that happened five years ago. The Zoey 101 star said her 14-year-old daughter now understands that she is fortunate to be alive after surviving that accident.
She said,
“We did a lot of work to process it, and now it’s more about focusing on the positive and the fact that it is a miracle — and that is not the case for so many people.”
The actress added,
“We were blessed. Things like that don’t just happen for no reason. That’s how we discuss it now. It’s our miracle anniversary, not our accident anniversary. And both Maddie and I are so grateful.”
The pop star Britney Spears also spoke last month about her emotional meltdown when she heard the devastating news about her niece. She said,
“My mind was completely and absolutely gone … I lost my mind at that moment, and I started throwing things!!! I managed to control myself when minutes later, Maddie opened her eyes… She could see!!!”
She was relieved and thankful to God when she found out her niece had survived the accident.
When Jamie Lynn Spears’s Daughter Suffered That Horrific Incident, How Did She Cope?
In February 2017, Jamie Lynn Spears and her daughter Maddie were at Jamie Watson’s parent’s house, where Maddie rode her ATV. While Maddie was strapped into her ATV, the ATV somehow ended up submerged in a pond on the property. Fortunately, then 8-year-old Maddie did not suffer any brain damage and survived.
A chilling account of Maddie’s harrowing ordeal and incredible recovery is excerpted in Jamie Lynn’s new memoir Things I Should Have Said.
She wrote,
“The first responder got in the water just as the ATV was dragged from the pond. He lifted Maddie out and laid her down next to me. She was unconscious, her body distended, face swollen and eerily blue.”
“The EMT started CPR. Nothing was working — not the compressions or the forced influx of air. No response. Wordlessly the EMT grabbed her lifeless body, flipped it over and began pounding on her back. I knew what I had just witnessed. My daughter’s lifeless body.”
“My baby was in the ambulance. The engine started, and the truck sped down the road before I knew what was happening. One of the firemen said, ‘They got a pulse.’”
Almost five years have passed since Jamie Lynn opened up about the distressing day and her daughter’s battle in the hospital.
Jamie Lynn Spears Experienced The Traumatic Incident Again: How?
During the filming of Fox’s new reality series Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, Spears experienced the traumatic incident again. In the deserts of Jordan, sixteen celebrities participated in grueling challenges designed for U.S. military training to test their physical and mental strength.
The group, including Hannah Brown and Kenya Moore, was asked to jump out of the helicopter into open water just hours after production began.
Spears said,
“I was beyond terrified and, of course, triggered. But I just had to do it, get through it. And I’m so glad I did.”
She said,
“The way they used the physical elements to bring out this mental healing was really important. Obviously, having to go through that experience with Maddie was very tragic for me.”
“And even though it turned out to be a miracle and she survived, all the water and the elements involved in the helicopter mission were tough for me. The second I was asked if I was OK, I threw up. My body remembered the trauma of Maddie’s accident, but it was also super healing.”
After completing the adrenaline-pumping task, Spears burst into tears and even puked but ultimately felt better afterward.
