Anthony Mackie’s Captain America 4 Can Be Game-Changing If It Adapts This Interesting Storyline From The Comics
Following the legacy of Chris Evans as Captain America, Sam Wilson (played by Anthony Mackie) has taken up the mantle of Captain America. The high-flying superhero Falcon is the successor of Captain’s shield and is set to give a truly fresh start after Evan’s era. Although Wilson admitted in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier that he hasn’t injected himself with the super-soldier serum, it’s not like he has no superpowers at all.
Marvel has always shown Falcon being accompanied by a semi-autonomous drone (Redwing) that he can control via a device on his wrist. However, comics depict a different picture where Falcon actually has the telepathic ability to communicate with birds, a link not only shared with Redwing but all other birds.
Wilson’s superpower to communicate with birds was first discovered in Captain America #174, when Professor X used telepathy to reach out to Falcon and realized that the latter has an affinity for mental communication.
Although it will indeed be really difficult to adapt this power in Captain America 4, after all these years of Falcon not using it, it can still be a game-changing move if the MCU finds a way to do so. After all, by doing so, Sam will finally have some superpower apart from being an excellent tactician and hand-to-hand combatant.
Captain America 4 Release Date Has Already Been Shifted Twice
Directed by Julius Onah from a script by the team of Malcolm Spellman, Dalan Musson, and Matthew Orton, Captain America 4 is scheduled to release on February 14, 2025. However, the movie was initially planned to be released on May 3, 2024, which was postponed to July 26, 2024. Again, the postponed date was assigned to Deadpool and Wolverine and hence, the movie got pushed to the next year (via Digital Spy).
The movie stars Anthony Mackie alongside Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, and many more. It is produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The budget is rumored to be between $350–$375 million, but the marketing expenditure can go a lot higher (via World of Reel). The reshoots have played a huge role in increasing the production budget significantly.
