Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate landed into trouble for illegal and criminal activities and were arrested upon primary investigation by Romanian law. As per Romanian law, a judge has up to 60 days to assess the files in the case before the defendants are sent to trial. In March, they were moved from custody to house arrest following a ruling by a Romanian judge. He has been residing in Romania since 2017 and is a social media influencer who gained notoriety over the years for peddling misogynistic views. Andrew Tate is a controversial self-help social media influencer who styles himself as the king of toxic masculinity. Towards the end of the last year, both brothers were detained by Romanian law on suspicion of human trafficking, r*pe, and forming an organized crime group.

What are the allegations against Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate?

Controversial internet duo Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate were taken into custody in December 2022 in Bucharest for their alleged involvement in criminal activities. This was not the first instance when the Tate brothers have been under investigation for their alleged involvement in criminal activity. In April 2022, Andrew Tate’s residence was raided by local authorities.

According to the Romanian publication Libertatea, Andre Tate and his brother Tristan Tate were arrested on human sex-trafficking allegations. Apart from the Tate brothers, two other Romanian suspects were detained for the same charges. All four have been charged with rape, human trafficking, and forming a criminal gang to exploit women, prosecutors in Romania.

The charges were primarily investigated by the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT), Romania’s anti-organized crime agency formed a criminal group in 2021 to commit the crime of human trafficking in Romania as well as the United States and Britain. After the investigation, the agency stated that the four defendants. It also alleged that seven female victims were misled into sexual exploitation and subjected to physical violence.

Based on the evidence against them, prosecutors have ordered the confiscation of assets from the Tate brothers including 15 luxury cars, luxury watches, and about $3 million they held in cryptocurrency.

In the recent course of events, Tate’s spokesperson, Mateea Petrescu said that the Tate brothers are ready to “demonstrate their innocence and vindicate their reputation.” Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan are back in court today, asking to be set free from detention in Romania.
