Even after keeping an active lifestyle for basically the entirety of his life, the action superstar was not prepared for what aging does to the body. Slowing metabolism, challenges in keeping the body active, troubles with mobility, etc. are not something he was prepared for.

In his latest appearance on The Howard Stern Radio Show, the Commando star got candid on his thoughts on aging saying:

“You kind of feel like, ‘Wait a minute, life is not anymore the same as when [you were] 30 years old, 40 years old, where you could do anything and you never had to think about anything. Now, all of a sudden, you have to start thinking about those things.”

Even after going through two major surgeries, Schwarzenegger’s passion for fitness and health is undeterred. Other than exercising and taking good care of yourself, the Hollywood star has this one trick that can be extremely helpful.

With age, the metabolical activities of the body take a hit. They slow down and make it difficult for the person to feel light. To avoid that, Schwarzenegger has only two meals a day, skipping lunch and working out regularly. These practices have kept him healthy in his old age. As he spoke on the The Howard Stern Radio Show:

“I just feel like as those challenges come my way, I take them … it’s the only choice we have. The bottom line is I’m 76 years old, I’m full of energy, I’m full of enthusiasm, [and] I’m as enthusiastic and excited as I was when I was 30 years old.”

Even after having to deal with plenty of challenges, Schwarzenegger’s optimistic approach to life is inspiring.
