“As Long as She Treats Trey Well, We’re Good”- Will Smith’s Ex-Wife Reveals Her Bumpy Relationship With Jada Smith Over Parenting
The Smiths have had a rocky marriage and there are no two ways about it. As the years have passed, different dynamics of “That Jada and that Will love”, as J. Cole so lovingly called it, have unfolded, leaving fans in utter shock. However, Mr. and Mrs. Smith have somehow kept their marriage afloat in the storm, sternly holding onto the rope. And it now looks like, Will Smith might have gotten caught several times in the crosshairs of his wife, Jada Smith, and his ex-wife, Sheree Zampino bickering.
Co-parenting is hard when there is a clash of personalities
Will Smith’s first wife, Sheree Zampino, was recently on the Behind the Velvet Rope podcast. Zampino and Smith share a son, Trey Smith, 29. On the podcast, Zampino revealed that the three of them – her, Jada, and Will Smith often found themselves disagreeing with the others when it came to parenting approaches. She said,
“You got three different dynamics, three different personalities and different belief systems, different way of doing things. And there were times we have bumped heads and it hasn’t been pretty. But listen, we get back on that horse and we press on. We do what we have to do because again, at the end of the day, it’s about the kids.”

Jada Smith and Sheree Zampino’s ambiguous relationship
Will Smith and Sheree Zampino split up after three years of marriage in 1995. Smith then got married to Jada Pinkett in 1997 and the two share two kids – Jaden Smith, 24, and Willow Smith, 21.
Sheree Zampino also shared how her dynamic with his husband’s second wife was anchored on the way she treated Trey.
“When you have a mutual respect, it becomes easier. With Jada, it was like, as long as she treats [Trey] well, we’re good. We’re good. And she’s treated him well and she’s loved him.”
Will Smith recently made headlines when he posted an apology video regarding his assault of comedian Chris Rock during the 94th Academy Awards ceremony.
