The trailer sees Tony Stark reflecting on his entire MCU journey as Iron Man, which also makes him fall for Pepper Potts. But his monologue may have meant something far more.
“Gosh, it seems like a thousand years ago. I fought my way out of that cave, became Iron Man, realized I loved you. I know I said ‘no more surprises,’ but I was really hoping to pull off one last one,” says Stark.
This dialogue seems to have come from Stark’s transmission meant for Pepper Potts, as when he’s stranded on Milano after the Battle on Titan. While Tony and Nebula try to figure a way to get back to Earth, he records a message to Pepper, teasing an ace up his sleeve.
