Bad News for K-Pop Fans as YG Entertainment Debunks Jennie Kim Starring in Upcoming Marvel Series Rumor
It was previously reported that Jennie Kim was soon going to make her Marvel debut. Kim’s exploration of various genres indeed felt like a dream to many K-pop fans. However, the fantasy bubble was recently busted by YG Entertainment, which claimed that all these speculations about Kim joining the Marvel franchise are false.
Kim has already made her acting debut with HBO’s The Idol. Her debut received mixed reviews from the audience. The news about Kim not appearing in Marvels disheartened some fans, whereas some critics advised that Kim shouldn’t change her performance considering her acting skills.
Jennie Kim isn’t going to make her Marvel debut anytime soon
Jennie Kim is a renowned K-pop artist who has given several hits throughout her music career. Witnessing Kim in a superhero film would have indeed been a treat for her fans. Previously, it was even rumored that BLACKPINK’s member was set to make her Marvel debut. It was reported that Kim has been offered the role of a member of Marvel’s Asian superhero team, Team Agents of Atlas.
Reportedly, Kim was supposed to portray the character Seol Hee (Luna Snow), who had previously appeared in a video game. However, all the expectations of K-pop fans were put in vain as YG Entertainment issued a statement claiming that
“It is not true that Jennie received an offer to star in a Marvel project.”
Though Kim won’t make her Marvel debut anytime soon, the singer has already tried her hands at acting, as she recently featured in HBO’s The Idol alongside Lily-Rose Depp and The Weekend. However, her role received mixed reviews from the audience.

After establishing herself in the music industry, Jennie Kim explored other genres as well. The 27-year-old singer recently made her acting debut in The Idol. The series featured Lily-Rose Depp in the lead role, and Kim played a supporting role as her friend.
