Billy Ray Cyrus’ Disturbing Divorce Battle With Ex-wife Revisited Amid His “Embarrassing” Donald Trump Inauguration Performance
- After divorcing Cindy Smith and Tish Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus got married to Firerose in 2023.
- However, by 2024, Cyrus had already filed for a divorce from Firerose citing irreconcilable differences.
- Now, recently, Cyrus performed at the Donald Trump Inauguration event, and everything about it was wrong.
Once a legendary rockstar, Billy Ray Cyrus made a joke of himself while performing at the Donald Trump Inauguration event. After a series of technical mishaps and his antagonizing onstage appearance, he became a hot topic on the internet. As he was struggling throughout his performance, many criticized the country singer and called him a ‘drug addict’ and ‘homeless’.
Following his latest divorce from Firerose, Cyrus has faced quite a lot of heat from the long disturbing divorce battle. Both of them accused each other of physical, verbal, and mental abuse. Before Firerose, the singer was married to Cindy Smith and Tish Cyrus. He is a father of six kids – four of his own Christopher Cody Cyrus (with Cindy Smith), Miley, Braison, and Noah (with Tish Cyrus), and two he adopted from Tish’s previous marriage (Brandi and Trace).
What happened to Billy Ray Cyrus at the Donald Trump Inauguration event?
At President Donald Trump‘s inaugural Liberty Ball, when Billy Ray Cyrus got to the stage and started his set with Old Town Road, he experienced equipment malfunctions. Despite calling the backstage crew for help, nothing seemed to work for the singer forcing him to complete the whole show by doing an acappella version of his songs.
While getting hyped by the situation, Cyrus can be heard saying in frustration, “Is my guitar still on? Is anyone awake?” In the mid-performance, his guitar started to act up. He then turned to the crowd and asked the crew to come and help him,
I don’t hear it? Do y’all hear it? Is anyone back there? Can somebody turn my guitar back on? We’re going to sing a bit more.
Cyrus then mocked the situation and frustratedly said, “Y’all want me to sing more, or you just want me to get the hell off the stage? I don’t give a damn.” After a while, a crew member came and solved the issue. As he resumed his set, the singer said, “When you have technical difficulties, you got to just keep going. Or, as President Trump would say, you got to fight!”
All the mishaps, his messy look, and the chaos pushed people to criticize him. While some called him ‘homeless’ given his latest divorce, others called the situation embarrassing. Here’s what netizens are writing about his performance on X (formerly known as Twitter):
Many social media users found him looking like a drug addict. One even commented on X that if this was his last performance, then he had gone down in flames.
Billy Ray Cyrus and his chaotic divorce battle with Firerose
On May 23, 2024, Billy Ray Cyrus filed for a divorce from his last wife Firerose citing irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct. However, his now-estranged wife then fired back with new documents claiming him to be abusive towards her. Cyrus denied all the allegations and alleged that the claims were not true, rather it was the other way around.
In his new documents, as obtained by People, the Achy Breaky Heart hitmaker claimed that Firerose had verbally, physically, and mentally abused him. As the document read,
While the Plaintiff would acknowledge that he was certainly vocal, frustrated and angry with the Defendant in May 2024, it is the plaintiff who, in fact, has been abused. Not only verbally and emotionally by the Defendant, but PHYSICALLY abused by Defendant.
After filing for a divorce, Cyrus even applied for paperwork requesting an annulment due to fraud. However, within seven months of their marriage, the couple parted ways for good.
