- A clip from the set of The Fantastic Four: First Steps film has been posted on X.
- Fans believe that Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom has a cameo in the movie based on the clip.
- Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige talked about the X-Men's entry into the MCU.
The internet is brimming with speculations about what can and cannot be expected from The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which is the first Fantastic Four movie to be made under the Marvel Studios. The excitement is at an all-time high and fans cannot help but voice every possibility they can think of every time someone involved says something or footage from the set leaks online.
Recently, a clip from the set of the film has found its way to X (formerly Twitter) and everyone seems to be thinking the same thing. The production team seemed to be trying hard to protect an actor’s identity from being revealed, and fans believe it is a cameo of Robert Downey Jr.
Fans Have Taken a Clip from the Set of The Fantastic Four: First Steps as a Hint to a Robert Downey Jr. Cameo
For years, the rights for the Fantastic Four superhero team were not with Disney. Kevin Feige, the President of Marvel Studios, was quiet upset about this. Fortunately, Disney acquired the rights to this team as well as X-Men in 2019 when the media conglomerate took over 20th Century Studios.
The past couple of years were quite a wild ride for Marvel Studios. Movie after movie was released, but it failed to restore the studio’s reputation. Late last year, the studio cut ties with supervillain Kang actor Jonathan Majors after he was convicted of assault.
At long last, Deadpool & Wolverine was released earlier this year and turned out to be the saving grace it desperately needed. To fill in the supervillain position, they brought back Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. to play the role of Doctor Doom.
Amidst the filming of The Fantastic Four: First Steps which is in full swing, a clip from the set at Calatrava in Oviedo surfaced on the internet. In the video, a man can be seen covering his face with his jacket while a member of the production team ensures that his identity is not revealed as he goes inside.
This has led many to wonder aloud if the man is Downey Jr. who might be making a cameo as Doctor Doom in the film. Here is what some of them wrote:
Obviously his cameo. pic.twitter.com/FNgveMaiFm

At the moment, it’s hard to tell who might be under that jacket, but fans can be sure it’s meant to be a surprise if the production team is trying to keep it hidden. If Doctor Doom does appear in the movie, fans’ speculations about the man in the clip might just be correct.
Kevin Feige Opened Up About the X-Men’s Entry Into the MCU
According to Deadline, Kevin Feige made a live virtual appearance at the opening of the Disney APAC Content Showcase, held in Singapore earlier this month. He was wearing a Fantastic Four cap and pointed to it when asked which Marvel project’s release next year he was most excited for.
Among other things, he also addressed the mutant superhero team, X-Men’s entry into the team. He said:
I think you will see that continues in our next few movies with some X-Men players that you might recognize. Right after that, the whole story of Secret Wars really leads us into a new age of mutants and of the X-Men. Again, [it’s] one of those dreams come true. We finally have the X-Men back.
2025 will be quite literally the year of the Marvel fans as more than half a dozen projects will be released over the year. However, fans will have to hold on to their patience for the release of the next Avengers film.
