Christopher Nolan Opened Up About Being an Indie Filmmaker
Unquestionably Christopher Nolan is one of the finest masterpiece creators in the world of sci-fi projects and this was again proved by his recent 2023 epic biographical thriller Oppenheimer. The director’s project had a star-studded cast that helped in the movie’s exceptional triumph.
A few years back while speaking at the same Slamdance festival, the Inception director shared what it’s like to be an indie filmmaker. Nolan emphasized that he’s primarily driven by a project’s storyline and its cast. He added:
“I’ve only ever been driven by story, I try not to think not too much about why I want to make a film, I think there’s also a sense of opportunity, that opportunity’s not always going to be there.”
Christopher Nolan added that he doesn’t obsess over why he wants to make a movie, rather makes them when he feels the need to make it, at the right time. However the Batman Begins director dominates the big-budget films, he doesn’t want to rule out making smaller-budget projects, but only when he finds a genuine story that will appeal to him.
