This has been going on for almost six months since the judgment was passed back in June. However, on Monday, Amber Heard took to her Instagram to announce the end of the whole drama. In a heartfelt post, the American actress wrote that she will not be appealing the court’s verdict. She came to this decision as she reportedly does not have the resources to go through another trial.

Amber Heard decided to not appeal the court’s verdict
Since the judgment was passed on June 1 in favor of Johnny Depp, the Aquaman actress has been vocal on the internet that she was going to appeal the verdict of the court. On December 5, it was reported that Amber Heard and her lawyers have filed a 68-page appeal to reverse the court’s verdict. To everyone’s surprise, just two weeks later, Heard issued a post on her Instagram to finally end the whole drama. She wrote, “I have made a very difficult decision to settle the defamation case.”

The Drive Angry actress talks about how she never wanted to end this. The actress continues to explain her side mentioning that all she did was tell her truth. But, in the process of telling her truth, she was destroyed and turned into a villain by social media. It seems like the actress wanted to finally put an end to this chapter of her life and move on. She further added, “I will not be threatened, disheartened, or dissuaded by what happened from speaking the truth.” She ended the note by thanking her companions who stood by her all along.
Johnny Depp’s lawyers react to the ending of the case
As reported by sources, Benjamin Chew and Camille Vasquez are very happy that this is over. As reported by TMZ, they said, “We are pleased to formally close the door on this painful chapter for Mr. Depp.” They further explained that Johnny Depp‘s only intention was to bring the truth to light and nothing else. That is why Depp has settled on the $1 million settlement instead of asking for the full amount of $10.35 million. His lawyers said, “The payment of $1M — which Mr. Depp is pledging and will donate to charities.”
Sources have reported that even the $1 million will be covered by Heard’s insurance company. The actress has decided to focus her energy on other important things in life.
