It’s a good day for both Johnny Depp and his fans. The star has made history by being signed for the highest amount ever to promote a fragrance for men. Dior had been loyal to the Pirates of the Caribbean star through his hard times as well, and now they have reinstated their relationship by signing Depp for Dior’s Sauvage men’s scent for a record amount. It is reportedly a three-year deal worth something over a whopping $20 million, thus making it the biggest men’s perfume deal to date.

After having a series of terrible years, 2022 was seemingly good for Johnny Depp. He won the wildly publicized defamation trial against Amber Heard. He also had quite a successful musical European tour.  He also signed a deal with Dior in August, although the exact details were not shared at the time. Reports suggested that it was a multiyear deal worth something close to 7 years. Now we see all of this indeed turned out to be true.

The 59-year-old has surpassed, with his $20 million deal, the former record signing amount of $12 million offered to Robert Pattinson for a 3-year contract to promote Dior Homme. The Twilight star had signed the deal back in 2012.
If we go further, the amount Depp is getting is almost three times what Brad Pitt was paid by Chanel back in 2012 for being the first ever man representing the Chanel N°5 perfume. Reports suggest that he signed a deal for $7 million to star in a few advertisements.

The What’s Eating Gilbert Grape star and Dior signed the deal back in 2022 during one of Depp and Jeff Beck’s rock concerts in Paris. Fashion photographer Greg Williams and several other people from Dior went to see Depp performing last summer and the deal was eventually finalized.

Reports suggest that the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory star also did a photoshoot with Williams prior to and following his concert in Paris. Content from that shoot might be a major part of the Edward Scissorhands actor’s new Dior ad campaign.

Depp fans are rejoicing this new contract and several of them expressed their joy and satisfaction for this news. One of the comments read,

“He deserves this and so much more! Can’t keep a god man down!”

Another fan couldn’t help but take a jibe at Amber Heard,

It must be noted that this is not Depp’s first collaboration with Dior. He had also signed a contract with the French fashion and cosmetics brand back in 2015 to be the representative of their scent. And it seems like Dior continues to find investing in Depp as lucrative as ever.

Depp fans had applauded Dior previously as well for being the only brand to not break their endorsement contract with him ever since he started facing allegations. And now, they have taken that a step further too.
