Captain America: Brave New World’s Rumored Post-Credits Scene Directly Sets Up Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars

Captain America: Brave New World‘s post-credit scene is a letdown?

Ahead of the release of the highly awaited Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Brave New World, which stars Anthony Mackie, Harrison Ford, and more, the movie was screened for the critics who shared their mixed reaction to it. But what caught their eye was the one post-credit scene of the movie, which teased a connection to Avengers: Doomsday.

According to an X user (@Austin_Medzz), Sam Wilson enters the raft and speaks to The Leader, who warns him about multiverse threats. This is a direct setup for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Captain America: Brave New World‘s post-credit teases indirectly that it was Doctor Doom behind the events of the movie, having sown chaos throughout the world to weaken the hero before his attack. The Leader says to Sam Wilson,

We share the same world—don’t be so sure it’s the one you would die to save. It’s coming. I’ve seen it in the probabilities, seen it as plain as day. All you heroes protecting this world. Do you think you’re the only ones?

He continues to mock Wilson by adding that they’ll see what happens when he, as Captain America, has to protect the place from the others. While the speech does not offer many details about the upcoming projects and their relation to Brave New World, it’s clear that the Leader knows that attacks around the multiverse are coming to threaten everyone.

The upcoming movie sets up a new age of the MCU as it hurtles towards the end of the Multiverse Saga. Critics and those who watched the post-credit scene online expressed that it felt like a letdown. However, a certain opinion can only be formed once the movie releases worldwide.

Comic Book Movie revealed that the post-credit scene was originally going to set up some kind of World War Hulk-like event. Fans have been waiting for the studios to adapt the classic storyline.

It follows the Hulk returning to Earth after being shot in space by the Illuminati. Hulk leads an army of aliens from Sakaar, during which he hunts down every member of the Illuminati.

Harrison Ford talks about joining the MCU with Captain America: Brave New World

Actor Harrison Ford, in his interview with The Wall Street Journal, revealed that he took on the MCU role without looking at the script. He said that he had seen enough Marvel to see actors that he admires, having a good time. He admits that he didn’t know that his character was going to turn into Red Hulk towards the end of the movie.

The actor plays a general-turned-US president in the movie shared with Walt Disney.

I am standing on the shoulders of the late William Hurt, who created the character that I’m playing in this Marvel film. I had an opportunity to see the foundations he established for the character, and it gave me a wonderful place to start.

Ford had praise for his co-star Anthony Mackie as he mentioned that he has a powerful presence on-screen and their scenes in the movie are mostly about conflict. The legendary actor noted Mackie is sensitive, understanding, and intelligent about what he’s doing.

The movie has received mixed reviews from critics, but the final verdict is going to be served by the audience. Captain America: Brave New World will be released on February 14, 2025.
