Actress Cate Blanchett’s name drops in the late Jeffrey Epstein’s flight logs

According to reports by the New York Times, Attorney General Pam Bondi released roughly 200 pages of documents, which contained new information regarding the ones who were in the orbit of the late and disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. He was a registered s*x offender who died at the age of 66 after he hung himself in the Manhattan jail. He had amassed a fortune of $600 million and was in contact with various high-profile celebrities.

The document released consists of flight logs for Epstein’s planes, information about his associates, and an item found at his residence. The late financier was believed to have s**ually abused more than 200 teenage girls and young women over three decades on his private island, Little St. James, in the U.S. Virgin Islands. It is often referred to as P*dophile Island, as it was allegedly his hub for abuse where high-profile guests were flown via his private jet.

The list revealed includes names like Mick Jagger, Michael Jackson, Alec Baldwin, and others. Cate Blanchett, Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz, alongside Naomi Campbell, Courtney Love, Ralph Fiennes, and more, have also featured on the infamous Epstein’s flight logs. While the list only confirms that the late, disgraced financier was in contact with various high-profile celebrities, it nowhere confirms any illegal activity by those listed on the list.

Sky News reported that Johanna Sjoberg, who is an Epstein accuser, brought up DiCaprio, Blanchett, and Diaz’s names. However, none of them are accused of any wrongdoing. She said,

I did not meet them, no. When I spoke about it, it was when I was massaging him [Epstein], and he would get off—he would be on the phone a lot of the time, and one time he said, ‘Oh, that was Leonardo or that was Cate Blanchett or Bruce Willis.’ That kind of thing.

254 masseuses were redacted from the list as it’s reported that those are the names of the victims. Epstein’s first book containing the names of Michael Bloomberg and Prince Andrew was made public in 2015.

Later, a new book in the 1990s surfaced, which included the names, which did not appear in the 2015 book. Attorney General Pamela Bondi shared in a statement via MNSBC

This Department of Justice is following through on President Trump’s commitment to transparency and raising the veil on the disgusting actions of Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators. The first phase of the files released today, which throws light on Epstein’s extensive network and begins to provide the public with long-overdue accountability.

FBI director Kash Patel also shared on his social media that the FBI is entering a new phase of integrity, accountability, and justice. He added that those who undermined this would be pursued, noting that hidden records would be exposed and brought to fuller transparency.

Even though the actress is not accused of any wrongdoing, her fans are pretty upset with the fact that she was once associated with someone like Epstein. However, a lot of them are relieved that she is not accused of anything and as of now, the flight logs are not a big scandal.

Cate Blanchett wishes women to be supported regardless of the outcome of their work

Cate Blanchett is regarded as one of the fiercest actresses in the industry who has never shied from talking about what needs to be done for women in the entertainment industry and in general. The actress at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival was joined by the Cannes jury and 81 other women to speak about gender equality. She at the time said (via Variety),

Women are not a minority in the world, yet the current state of our industry says otherwise. As women, we all face our own unique challenges, but we stand together on these steps today as a symbol of our determination and our commitment to progress. We are writers, producers, directors, actresses, cinematographers, talent agents, editors, distributors, and sales agents, and all of us are involved in cinematic art.

The actress added that they expect the government to make sure that the laws of equal pay for equal work are upheld. The women demand workplaces to be diverse and equitable so that they can reflect the world in which they live. Blanchett has continued to use her voice to advocate for women’s rights and a cultural shift where female filmmakers are supported regardless of the outcomes of their movies.

Cate Blanchett has been actively working to provide opportunities and power to women, transgender, and non-binary individuals with her Dirty Films production company. She believes that their experiences and viewpoints when it comes to stories are going to be fresh angles and unique.

The actress recently appeared at the Rotterdam Film Festival and shared that The Stranger by Visconti awakened her love for cinema. She further added that her French teacher took the class to see it, and she learned more about cinema than she did about French.

Blanchett is regarded as one of the most talented actresses and admits that she was hypnotized by the cinematic storytelling of the movie. During the festival she shared (via Variety),

I was resigned, happily, to a career in theatre. I didn’t think I was that girl. There was a sense women had a certain shelf life in the film industry, and a certain type of woman got to parade on the screen, and others didn’t.

The Academy Award-winning actress noted that she didn’t think she was going to work in the film industry. But obviously, God had other plans for her. The actress, addressing the audience, shared that she learns more from her failures, which is how she has been able to get to the stage where she is today.

The actress wishes to see more successful movies like Barbie or Anatomy of Fall. Someone who has been a long advocate for gender equality being wrapped up in Epstein’s flight log list is upsetting.
