Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther Beats Avengers: Endgame and Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 to Become Greatest Ever Superhero Movie, Zack Snyder’s Justice League Ranks Last
Black Panther continues to make waves, three years after the passing of its leading man Chadwick Boseman.
The 43-year-old lost a private battle with colon cancer in 2020 but he permanently etched his name in the history books and hearts of millions with his fabulous portrayals of figures like James Brown, Jackie Robinson, and the king of Wakanda, T’Challa.

Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom was Chadwick’s last movie that also earned him a posthumous Oscar nomination as Best Actor. But it’s his role as T’Challa that makes headlines to this date.
Where Does Black Panther Rank Among the Greatest Superhero Movie of All Time
Chadwick Boseman made history in 2018 by becoming the first Black superhero to get a stand-alone Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, which broke numerous box office records, smashing the $1 billion collection barrier in the process.
Boseman brilliantly portrayed the role of T’Challa/Black Panther, who takes the responsibility of safeguarding his people and his land, Wakanda, following the death of his father.
While his first appearance in Marvel Cinematic Universe (2016’s Captain America: Civil War) instantly made him a fan favorite, his second appearance (2018’s Black Panther) proved to be groundbreaking in more than one aspect. Most importantly, the movie – which also saw Ryan Coogler become the first black Marvel Studios director – opened new doors for individuals from different backgrounds in both Marvel and DC franchises.
But Black Panther’s genius wasn’t just limited to making numbers or fueling a social change, it was a movie backed by a very well-written plot and storyline, which is not as regular a sight as one might believe when it comes to superhero movies.
As such, it’s not surprising to see that the movie has been ranked at the summit of Rolling Stone’s fifty greatest superhero movies of all time ahead of historically acclaimed movies like Spider-Man 2 (ranked 2nd) and Avengers: Endgame (ranked 4th).

Zack Snyder’s Justice League Finds Itself in Trenches in Greatest Superhero Movie Rankings
While Rolling Stone reserved very generous words for Black Panther, they described Zack Snyder’s Justice League as the superhero movie that “makes you feel like there’s someone who is treating these DCEU heroes and villains like the gods and monsters they are on the page.”
Zack Snyder‘s four-hour-long plot sees Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) and Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) assemble a team of metahumans to protect the world from Steppenwolf.
However, the dragged storyline and even more tedious slo-mo action sequences fail to assemble the keen interest of those in theaters for too long.
This was also reflected in its earnings, as the movie only managed to collect $657.9 million, drowning $60 million of Warner Bros. money when weighed up against the break-even point of $750 million.
