Character-Assassination or Legit? In a Suspicious Turn of Events, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler Gets Accused of Sexually Assaulting Minor Almost 5 Decades Ago
It was almost 5 decades ago when Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler, once dated and impregnated a then-underage girl named Julia Holcomb. He has been charged in a lawsuit with sexually abusing her when she was 16 and he was 25 in the 1970s. The singer is the target of a lawsuit brought by a young woman who claims to have been a minor in an illicit relationship with him in the 1970s. In addition to intentional infliction of emotional distress, Holcomb accused him of sexual assault and sexual battery. The lawsuit was brought about as a result of California legislation that temporarily waived the statute of limitations for claims of child sexual abuse.
The lawsuit, which was brought by Julia Holcomb in Los Angeles and lists the defendants as ‘Defendant Doe 1’ through ‘Defendant Doe 50’, does not specifically name the 74-year-old Aerosmith musician. But according to Rolling Stone, Steven was closely associated with Julia at the time of the alleged relationship. The lawsuit also includes quotations from his 2011 autobiography, Does The Noise In My Head Bother You.
Julia Holcomb filed the lawsuit against Steven Tyler under California’s look-back law
Accused Julia Holcomb claims in the lawsuit that Steven Tyler started dating her when she was only 16 years old. He would have been 25 years old when the relationship began in 1973, and it lasted for a number of years. She added that her parents’ consent to the musician taking on guardianship of her made it possible for them to travel across state lines. The accused have been charged with “sexual assault, sexual battery, and intentional inflection of emotional distress,” the source says. But Tyler had no obligations to the rules behind the guardianship and thus, he allegedly continued to have s*x with Holcomb and involve in a fickle relationship. According to the victim, it had a profound effect on her well-being.
In Tyler’s autobiography, it is stated that he “almost took a teen bride” and that they had a similar kind of relationship. He did not, however, give the teen’s name in the book. In an Aerosmith biography that was released in 1997, he also discussed a relationship with a teenager and provided details of a related circumstance. This time, Diana was used to referring to the adolescent.
More serious allegations against Steven Tyler!
The lawsuit claims that Julia Holcomb was a minor and was unable to legally travel with Steven Tyler across state lines. Also, he allegedly paid for her own plane ticket to his Aerosmith concert in Seattle. Tyler allegedly continued to engage in sexual acts with Holcomb after the Seattle performance. And the following morning, Julia Holcomb took a flight back to Portland. Julia Holcomb claimed in her lawsuit that Tyler took her to his hotel room, where he “performed various acts of criminal sexual conduct,” and that he was aware of her age the moment they first met.
She further claimed that she had an abortion at Tyler’s urging when she was 17 and carrying his child. Well, a new law allows alleged victims of underage s*x abuse to still file charges even though the case’s statute of limitations has passed. The law will be over on December 31.
According to what is known, Steven Tyler has not yet responded to the lawsuit.
