Charlie Hunnam recalls shooting for Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon
Anybody who is even a tad bit in touch with superhero movies does not need any introduction to the name Zack Snyder. He is famously known for his cinematic masterpieces like Justice League and Man of Steel etc., alongside a range of other works.
Working with Zack Snyder is a one-in-a-lifetime experience and Charlie Hunnam seems to be grateful to have gotten the opportunity. While describing what it was like working with the esteemed director, Hunnam suggested that Snyder is very hands-on with everything he creates and is open to receiving feedback as well. He had this to say during an interview with Entertainment Tonight:
“Zack is like a dude in his garage building a go-kart. Like he is just in it, like greased up in his eyeballs, ratchet in his back pocket, and like if you wanna come over and help him build the go-kart he’s like, ‘Awesome, you paint the stripes’ and you’re like, ‘What color’ and he goes, ‘That’s what you’re here for, I don’t know.'”
Charlie Hunnam declined the role of Green Arrow
Charlie Hunnam was the top choice to play the role of Green Arrow. However, he had to decline the role because of his lack of knowledge of the character. Playing the character of a superhero is undoubtedly not an easy job. Actors need to do their research and learn the journey of the character to stay true to the role.
That is exactly why Charlie Hunnam decided to reject the offer. While speaking about the same during an interview with Comicbook, he said:
“I don’t know who Green Arrow is so I don’t want to offend anyone. I looked at one picture and I was like, ‘I’m not sure green’s my color and I’m pretty sure spandex isn’t my material.’ Beyond that, I was like, one image, ‘Thanks, not interested.’”
During the interview, Charlie Hunnam also revealed that he did not speak to Zack Snyder directly. Instead, he was offered the role by a few men in suits. That said, this is a true testament to a brilliant actor who did not take up the role just for the sake of money.
