As a part of filming for the upcoming second season of Disney+ Originals and the National Geographic series Limitless with Chris Hemsworth, the Marvel actor showed up at Ed Sheeran’s concert at the National Arena in Romania. Chris Hemsworth showed up at Sheeran’s +-= ÷x tour and played drums in front of an audience of 70,000 fans.

The actor played drums on Sheeran’s hit song Thinking Out Loud, for which he learned to play drums from scratch. This activity was described as a brain-boosting challenge, which will be shown in the upcoming season of Limitless. Chris Hemsworth shared a clip of him getting ready to play drums in front of 70,000 people. In the video, he can be heard saying,

This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever done.

Ed Sheeran took the opportunity to share on his social media, stating that he got Hemsworth to learn to play drums for his stadium show. He shared that the Marvel actor had emailed him to talk about his documentary on cognitive health and the benefits of learning an instrument. Sheeran was excited to be a apart of it.

However, fans pointed out that playing drums might not be the dumbest thing Hemsworth has done because his being a part of 2012’s action-adventure film Red Dawn, according to fans, is the dumbest project he’s done. The movie was a remake of a 1984 movie of the same name and followed a group of young people who defend their hometown from a North Korean invasion.

Back in April 2023, Hemsworth, along with the director Darren Aronofsky, appeared for Deadline’s Contenders Television: Documentary + Unscripted event to talk about Limitless. He said,

I was incredibly excited to work with Darren and the team. And you know, I can’t say I had done any sort of deep dive into the space of longevity or had any real education in the science of it. I’m always trying to take pretty good care of myself, but kind of take my health for granted.

Hemsworth continued that when Darren Aronofsky approached him about the series, he started to notice certain injuries or certain ways he used to train. He mentioned that he started to catch up on certain health habits that he thought he had taken care of but had to dissect all of those. He admits that he was sort of a guinea pig in among a lot of the experiences that the audience saw on the show.
