Let’s rewind to the night of December 9, 2018—a night central to the case, as the assault allegedly occurred then. Hand detailed her experience, stating (via The Irish Star):

I just remember him behind me and I think I was sitting on the bed. He put his arm around my neck and choked me three times. I just froze, and I couldn’t move, and I couldn’t breathe. I looked at the bedpost and was thinking about my daughter. I kept thinking I was going to die and I was never going to see my daughter again.

This terrifying night would mark the beginning of a painful journey for her, who would later seek justice through the courts.

Before the alleged assault, Hand claimed McGregor made an inappropriate and disturbing comment. Recalling the incident, she said (via Dublin Live):

I remember [the] security guard over the window and another security guard closing the door between the two rooms. I remember panicking. Why is there three men in the room and I’m the only one in here? I also remember walking into the bedroom area and I remember walking the two rooms looking around and Conor was in the bathroom and he said something inappropriate to me. He told me to, ‘S*ck on that’.

Her testimony in court has been chilling. The alleged physical and verbal abuse she described is hard to ignore. Hand recalled how McGregor’s alleged actions made her feel powerless and afraid for her life.

The details of his behavior before and during the alleged assault are unsettling, especially considering McGregor’s public persona as a fighter and businessman.

After the alleged assault, Hand went to the emergency room to get checked out. She was seen by Dr. Daniel Kane, an emergency room gynecologist at Rotunda Hospital. Dr. Kane’s testimony is crucial because it will help support Hand’s claims.

Dr. Kane said that the injuries Hand had matched her story of the alleged assault. He saw bruises on different parts of her body and noticed that she was shaking and crying when he checked her. The doctor also said that Hand appeared very upset and traumatized.

Mr. Kane performed a s*xual assault examination on her to collect DNA samples, which would be used as evidence in the case. He also mentioned that a tampon was lodged “at the very, very top,” which could have been related to the alleged assault.

In her testimony, Hand provided more details about what happened that alleged night. She explained that things started off innocently with alcohol and cocaine, but quickly took a dark turn once they arrived at the hotel.

It all started when McGregor and Hand allegedly crossed paths on Instagram. According to Hand, she had posted something on the platform, which caught McGregor’s attention. He commented on her post, asking where she was.

Hand was at a costume party that night and had been drinking. That comment, as she said, started a chain of events that would soon spiral out of control. Later that night, McGregor got in touch with her and her friend.

They spoke over the phone, and McGregor reportedly said he would pick them up. Around 9 a.m. the next morning, the 36-year-old and his security guard arrived in a car to take them to a hotel. The group drove to the Beacon Hotel, thinking they were going to another party, but things took a different turn.

Once they arrived at the hotel, the group was given access to two connected rooms. At first, everything seemed okay. But things started to feel off when the professional boxer and his security guard allegedly closed the connecting door between the rooms, leaving Hand alone with McGregor.

This is when the situation began to escalate. According to her, McGregor allegedly started making inappropriate advances. She said she tried to push him away and even tried to remind him that he was engaged to his fiancée, Dee Devlin.

But McGregor allegedly didn’t listen. In fact, he reportedly continued to push forward and made things worse. As the situation became more tense, Hand said McGregor allegedly assaulted her. She was left feeling scared and trapped.

Hand’s legal battle with McGregor isn’t just about getting justice. She’s also seeking financial compensation for the damages she said she’s suffered.

In a lawsuit filed in 2021, Hand asked for between $1.79 million and $2.13 million in damages (The Sporting News). This includes compensation for lost wages, medical expenses, and the emotional toll the incident has taken on her.

She claimed that the alleged assault has caused her severe psychological issues, making it difficult for her to work or carry on with her daily life. Hand said that the trauma from the alleged assault has affected her mental health to the point where she hasn’t been able to hold down a job since May 2019.
