The live-action adaptation of the Cowboy Bebop series has been shockingly canceled by Netflix and now a writer on the series has revealed how fans are “missing out” on the second season that will never see the light. Given the amount of attention that was shown by Netflix for the adaptation of Cowboy Bebop, it seemed like a possibility that we’d see the second season for the series. This was the sentiment conveyed in the final moments of the only season, teasing new characters and bounties that would appear in season two.
Cowboy Bebop Got Cancelled By Netflix After Just 1 Season
People who were involved with Cowboy Bebop and fans, both have been sharing their thoughts on the cancellation of the series, with writer Naomi Markman taking to Twitter to respond to the news, revealing that she has read the script for the second season and there are some episodes that fans “are going to miss out on” with “[N]ot to rub it in your faces, but as the individual who has read the [Cowboy Bebop Season 2] scripts more than anyone else in this world – f— you’re missing out.”
This is a statement shared by stars on the series, Mustafa Shakir and Daniella Pineda who wrote a heartfelt message to all fans on social media after the cancellation news came out. “What a cool opportunity right?! I got to play Jet Black! I’ll never not be him..so to speak. That’s badass to me. Netflix went balls to wall for us in order to get it done. They really looked out for us when shit hit the fan…but at the end of the day business is business and this was a big ship that needed a lot of fuel. Maybe the ‘haters’ and the critics got us maybe it wasn’t as good as we thought… [All] I know is we got this done under the craziest conditions and I’m proud of what we did. Thank you for dreaming with us. See you space cowboys.”
The Cowboy Bebop live-action series may have had plans for a second season, but it looks like it will never happen.
