Beyoncé revealed that Cowboy Carter had been in the making for the past five years and it curated out of her good and bad experiences in her life. Her post further mentioned-
This album has been over five years in the making. It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed…and it was very clear that I wasn’t. But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of Country music and studied our rich musical archive. It feels good to see how music can unite so many people around the world, while also amplifying the voices of some of the people who have dedicated so much of their lives to educating on our musical history.
Beyoncé even spoke about the criticism she had faced when she was new in the country music genre, which somehow forced her to move past the limitations that she was subjected to. The music icon concluded her post with a surprise collaboration mention and reminded her fans that Cowboy Carter is not just a country album, but Beyoncé’s album.
