David Spade Donates $5K to Burger King Employee After They Gave Bag of Chips for 27th Anniversary
David Spade is known for his career as an actor and a comedian. He has starred in several films such as 90s comedy Tommy Boy along with The Wrong Missy, Joe Dirt, and Grown Ups. The star is a hero in real life as well since he recently donated thousands of dollars to a Burger King employee.
Burger King employee receives goodies for working tirelessly for 27 years
The Burger King employee, Kevin Ford, recently went viral after receiving a “goodie bag” from his colleagues to celebrate 27 years of working for the company without ever missing a day. The goodie bag included one film ticket, a bar of chocolate, some mints, a lanyard, and a few other things. Even though Kevin Ford was full of gratitude for the gift, the internet felt that it wasn’t enough for his tiresome service for around three decades.
HMS Host, the hiring company for Burger King was the one that gifted the bag to the employee. In a statement, Burger King said,
“The Burger King brand and its many franchisees nationwide are committed to recognizing and celebrating the achievements of the thousands of people serving across a wide range of roles. Following a review with this location’s franchisee, we’ve learned that this video depicts a Team Member in receipt of a peer-to-peer reward in recognition of a short-term positive performance/experience.”
David Spade donates $5000 dollars to Burger King employee
Due to the internet’s overwhelming support, the employee’s daughter set up a GoFundMe account for him which then received hundreds of donations including one by actor-comedian, David Spade. He donated $5000 dollars to Kevin and said that the consistently performing employee should take an off day after finishing 30 years of service.
Kevin Ford uses donations for meeting his daughters
Responding to the donation he received because of his daughter, Kevin Ford stated,
“I can’t repay her, you know? Because she is why I do everything – her and my other daughters and now my grandkids. I really can’t put into words how much I love my family.”
Ford also said that he’ll use the collected money to buy a car and meet his daughters who live in Texas.
