David Tennant Flaunts His New Looks
BBC had released a statement about the comeback of David Tennant, saying, “We are thrilled to confirm that David Tennant will be returning to Doctor Who to celebrate the show’s 60th anniversary. David is one of the most popular Doctors ever, and we can’t wait to see him back in the TARDIS.”
In a new picture, Tennant is seen trying to block traffic to stop something from happening. What is unexpected here is that the Time Lord is shocked to see a mysterious man standing before him. With the image shared on Instagram, BBC captioned, “The Fourteenth Doctor is springing into action! What you are you most excited for in the #DoctorWho 60th anniversary specials?”
The episodes are expected to see more of the stars returning, including old nemeses of Doctor Who, which can be the potential reason for his surprised face. The episodes are also expected to bring Catherine Tate, reprising her character and role as Donna Noble.
The 10th Doctor is Not Returning Back
Fans are excited to see Tennant back on screen as Doctor Who, after 10 years, who last appeared during a 50th anniversary special in an episode titled- The Day of the Doctor. But to clear the doubts, the 14th Doctor isn’t the 10th Doctor, and it is not going to be like his last appearance. This time is different as the Doctor will be playing another incarnation of the beloved character, Time Lord.
Although the role might bear some similarities, it was stated by Tennant himself, during an interview, “The Doctor’s been three different people in the meantime, so I’m not necessarily the same version of the Doctor that I was before.”
As per the words of David Tennant, the fourteenth Doctor must be treated separately from the original role. Additionally, the role played by Catherine Tate will be different too. The doctor might have got older by a few 1000 years, but we cannot forget a lot of time passed for her too.
