Gunn gave the world a shock as he revealed his plans for Superman: Legacy. The filmmaker recently revealed that David Corenswet will replace Cavill in the upcoming film. He will be playing the role of Superman/Clark Kent in the rebooted universe.

As the news of Superman came out, fans were waiting to see who he’ll be going up against in his first movie. DC might have just spoiled the villain for James Gunn’s upcoming Superman: Legacy DCU film. The official Superman Twitter account posted three of the character’s comic arcs that inspired James Gunn’s upcoming reboot, Superman: Legacy. The post hinted at Brainiac as the film’s antagonist.

It’s difficult to see why a comic book with Brainiac in the title would be featured in this list if the renowned villain wasn’t engaged in some way. DCU, under Gunn’s supervision, has never deceived audiences. Brainiac being the villain in the upcoming film might be true. The baddie looks at Earth and the Man of Steel who guards it in the comic book plot, and the rest is history.

It was previously reported, that the anti-hero group named The Authority, or at least some of its members, will be the antagonists in the upcoming film. Looks like The Authority is not the only villain, as Superman: Legacy will have another baddie.
