A spin-off in the X-Men film series, Deadpool is one of the most beloved superhero franchises. Ryan Reynolds plays the titular role and the first movie of this franchise was released in 2016. The eponymous lead character, Deadpool first appeared in the 2009 movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

The third installment of this franchise has been in the making for years now. While promoting Once Upon a Deadpool/Deadpool 2, Ryan Reynolds mentioned that Deadpool 3 was being developed. The movie is going to have an ensemble cast that will include Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Garner, and Morena Baccarin among others. However, a recent update suggests that one of Ryan Reynold’s co-stars will not be reprising their role even though the fans are quite passionate about it.

Ryan Reynolds’ Co-star Might Not be in Deadpool 3

In Deadpool 3, Ryan Reynolds will obviously be reprising his role of the mutant mercenary Wade Wilson aka Deadpool. Hugh Jackman had retired from his superhero character Wolverine with Logan, but much to the delight of Reynolds and the fans, he decided to make a comeback in the movie as the iron-clawed mutant.

While a lot of the old faces will be seen in the movie, Deadpool 3 was also rumored to welcome a new character known as Kidpool which was introduced in 2008’s Deadpool #2 Marvel comics. The character is a younger version of Deadpool, and earlier, reports had suggested that Reynolds’ The Adam Project co-star Walker Scobell would be portraying the character.

However, a new update has claimed that Scobell will, in fact, not be seen in the movie which seems to be quite shocking news for fans. An X (formerly Twitter) user Can We Get Some Toast (@CanWeGetToast) reposted a post about the Percy Jackson actor playing Kidpool, writing:

“As far as I know, Walker Scobell will NOT be playing Kidpool in #Deadpool3. His scenes were already shot, but it could’ve been a stunt double. They should actually get Timothee Chalamet for the role. He’d be perfect for what they want to do with the character.”

While it is not known for sure whether or not this information is true, fans seem to be disappointed by this update as they have been excited to watch Kidpool appear in Deadpool 3.

Deadpool 3 is going to be released as a part of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 5 which is going to see a lot of elements of the multiverse. In Marvel’s Deadpool #2 comic, Deadpool encountered many alternate versions of himself. One of these versions was Kidpool, who is a child with qualities that are similar to Deadpool, so it will not be entirely shocking if the character appears in Deadpool 3.

Rumors about Walker Scobell started circulating when Ryan Reynolds liked an X user asking if he had gotten the child actor to audition for the role of Kidpool referencing a video of Scobell reciting a part of the Deadpool 2 script with Reynolds on the set of Netflix’s The Adam Project. Yet, nothing can be confirmed or denied until the movie is released.
