The movie that was marketed by stating that it’s going to change the course of MCU has proven to be exactly what it said. Upon release, it has received positive comments from critics and the audience. Deadpool & Wolverine, which saw the return of Jackman to reprise his character after seven years, marks the first R-rated movie in the MCU. The question that everyone wants to know is the future of Jackman in the MCU, and Kevin Feige answers.

Marvel president Kevin Feige talks about Hugh Jackman’s future in the MCU post-Deadpool & Wolverine

Ahead of the release of the highly anticipated movie Deadpool & Wolverine, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige shared with Discussing Film about the future of Hugh Jackman, who returned to play Wolverine after seven years. He said,

You know, Marvel is celebrating its 85th anniversary later this summer. That’s just the first 85 years, and Disney just celebrated 100 years as well. I think these characters will be around for another 100 years, long after all of us. So, for sure, there will be eventually another actor as Wolverine.

Feige continued to explain that in the future, whoever gets cast as Wolverine after Jackman, will have a very different style and in a different way. He added that according to him, if someone tries to attempt to do a Hugh Jackman as Wolverine impression, that would be a pretty big mistake. He said,

There have been various and very different versions of these characters over the decades. It would be fun to explore different ones someday down the line. Again, we don’t have immediate plans by any means. But in the decades to come, I think it’s inevitable. If that happens, it would have to be a very different and bold reinterpretation of the character because no one will be as great as Hugh Jackman.

Kevin Feige’s comments come off as stating that the actor is going to be Wolverine for a while, but the studios will be open to exploring new interpretations of the character in the future. Deadpool & Wolverine‘s ending seemingly goes along with Feige’s willingness to bring Jackman back for more movies. Ryan Reynolds’s Deadpool also joked about Hugh Jackman playing the character until he’s 90.

A recent update from industry insider Daniel Richtman states that Feige wants Jackman for Avengers: Secret Wars, which is going to star Robert Downey Jr., but there can be no confirmation as of now.

Hugh Jackman shares about reuniting with former X-Men actor Ke Huy Quan almost 24 years later

Hugh Jackman recently shared a heartwarming post on his social media about him reuniting with his former X-Men actor Ke Huy Quan after 14 years. The duo met at the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony for Kevin Feige. Jackman said (via CBR),

One of the things about the movie being released is that so many moments are happening that are making me appreciate the 25 years that I’ve been playing Wolverine. I saw Ke Huy Quan, and of course, he won an Oscar recently, his story is incredible and his career is incredible, and we saw each other and we embraced because we worked together on X-Men.
