James Gunn has had fans on the edge of their sanity as they eagerly wait for the first Superman movie trailer from the DC Universe to drop. In all honesty, fans are more than willing to welcome the whole movie, but since good things come to those who wait, they do not mind sacrificing their peace of mind by asking the DC Studios co-CEO for an update on the film every now and then.

Millions of DC fans across the world were and some still are heartbroken over the fact that Henry Cavill will not be returning as the superhero. However, a majority of them have now accepted their fate and are excited to see what Gunn has in store for them. James Gunn rebooting the DCEU was unarguably for the best considering the doomed fate the franchise was heading towards. Despite some of the best movies being a part of it, the franchise seemed to be slowly slipping to a point where it would be no longer redeemable. Co-CEOs Gunn and Peter Safran could see this. So, they decided to give it a complete revamp.

The loss of Henry Cavill as Superman was perhaps the only complaint that fans had. However, it did not take long for Gunn to convince them that the studio had something good in store for them, and given his track record, there was no question of doubting him. After all, he has given us the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy and The Suicide Squad.

Little updates about the project trickle out every once in a while and this time around, fans seem to have hit the jackpot as Collider has recently reported that the first trailer might be released in mid-December. Creature Commandos Actor Frank Grillo Has Expressed His Candid Thoughts About James Gunn’s Superman Trailer

Gunn has been on the top of his game for years now. It is unlike him to take a shot at something and fumble it. Understandably, his DCU debut is widely anticipated. While fans still have not gotten the chance to see the trailer for Superman, Frank Grillo who portrays Rick Flag Sr. in the franchise has been lucky enough to do it.

Grillo voices Flag Sr. in the upcoming Creature Commandos and was promoting the film in an interview with Collider‘s Steve Weintraub. During their conversation, The Purge star expressed his honest feelings about Superman‘s trailer.

I’ll tell you something — I hope I don’t get in trouble for this — I got a sneak peek at a little bit of the trailer, and I’m not joking, and I’m not blowing this out of proportion, my skin was hot and I had goosebumps. That’s how great it is.

Grillo also did not let go of his chance to grill those who are skeptical of David Corenswet donning the cape by saying that the Pearl actor is great and destined to be a superstar. Considering Corenswet is Gunn’s choice, there is no doubt about him becoming a star.

Superman is scheduled to be released on July 11, 2025.
