Daredevil is all set to take over the TV screens and fans’ hearts again as Marvel Studios gave the audience a glimpse at the first season of Daredevil: Born Again at the D23 Expo.
While most actors from the original series are reprising their roles in this new show, another actor Kamar de los Reyes joined the cast. Unfortunately, he passed away last year before the series could premiere for the world to appreciate his work.
This loss leads fans to wonder if the show will have to include a storyline involving Kraven the Hunter. It seems like the best possible option for the series. However, there is one issue regarding that arc since it’s not nearly as straightforward as it looks at first glance.
Fans Hope Late Daredevil: Born Again Actor Kamar de los Reyes Gets the Farewell He Deserves
Kamar de los Reyes starred in numerous stage play productions, TV series, and movies in his acting career. Some of his major credits were his portrayals of the character Antonio Vega in the ABC soap opera One Life to Live, and that of the villain Raul Menendez in the video game Call of Duty.
His most recent appearance was in seven episodes of the hit CW show All American as Coach Montes. Before his tragic demise due to cancer (via People), he was filming episodes of this show, and also shot scenes for Hulu’s upcoming limited series Washington Black.
According to Cosmic Marvel on X, his portrayal of Hector Ayala/White Tiger in the Charlie Cox-starrer Daredevil: Born Again is confirmed, and it is perhaps the biggest acting credit of his life. Fans on the internet are hopeful that he and his character will get a good farewell, and also suggested that maybe Hector’s daughter Ava will take over his place in the second season.
Reyes’ sudden death is bound to complicate things for his character’s arc in the show, although the story is still tightly under wraps. However, if the creators choose to keep the narrative with the character going, they can show that the character died at the hands of Kraven the Hunter.
Marvel Could Use a Crossover Between Daredevil and Kraven the Hunter to Keep the White Tiger Narrative Going
The creators can bring Kraven the Hunter into the mix to show that Ayala has been killed by him, and his daughter Ava Ayala takes over as White Tiger in the second season. This too has a tiny glitch that Marvel might choose to handle their way.
The storyline of Kraven the Hunter hunting down Hector Ayala, the yielder of the Tiger Amulet, and Ava Ayala taking over the legacy as his daughter exists on Earth-12041. Daredevil’s story takes place on Earth-616, where Ava is Hector’s sister, rather than his daughter (via Marvel Database).
Ava’s relationship with Hector is something that Marvel might consider switching. However, this will not come as too much of a surprise as the studio also changed Ms. Marvel/Kamala’s identity from an Inhuman to a mutant in Phase 4. So, such a change in detail might not be entirely shocking for fans.
