Olivia Wilde is currently embroiled in a legal battle with her ex-husband Jason Sudeikis for their child custody. The American actress is in the spotlight for the last two years as she was previously dating Harry Styles. They began dating on the sets of her movie Don’t worry Darling and called it quits last year. It has been tough few weeks for Wilde, the actress shares her two children, Otis and Daisy, with her former partner, Jason Sudeikis. According to reports, the New York judge heard the director’s request and denied Sudeikis’ request to keep the lawsuit in New York. Sudeikis is attempting to sue Wilde for financial difficulties, according to court documents.

Olivia Wilde claims that her ex-husband, Jason Sudeikis, is intentionally extending their custody battle in order to cause her financial difficulty. Wilde noted in court documents provided prior to a now-canceled hearing in Los Angeles that while Sudeikis has the financial resources to file countless motions and prolong the legal issue, she lacks the same level of financial security.
According to legal documents obtained by the Daily Mail, Wilde argued in court that Sudeikis can afford to spin his wheels with filing after filing but she cannot in their custody struggle over their two children, Otis and Daisy. The actress’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, stated in court documents,
“Jason should not be permitted to litigate Olivia into debt, and then claim she should be deprived of her right to seek a need-based fee contribution from him.”
The ex-couple were spotted together last month, enjoying a friendly hug as reports surfaced that Wilde is struggling to recover from the pain of her recent breakup with Harry Styles. Several reports claimed at the time that Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis could perhaps reconcile because they are currently on friendly terms and happily co-parenting their children, but the situation quickly became worst in the last couple of weeks and they are now at odds again.

In the documents, the Life Itself movie actress claimed that she and her ex-husband were on the verge of an amicable conclusion until he allegedly blindsided her.
Olivia Wilde shared,
“We were scheduled to start working with a family therapist in California in mid-January. I thought things were calming down and were going to move forward in a more amicable, respectful fashion.”
In a statement to Entertainment Tonight, a rep for Olivia Wilde says,
“The sealed and private documents that were leaked today are the utmost breach of trust and never intended for public consumption. This private family matter, involving young children, has continued to be a tabloid fixture and the press coverage dating back a year has been relentless and traumatic. Olivia only continues to be focused on co-parenting her children and moving past this difficult period swiftly and drama free.”
The actress’s lawyer further explained,
“Jason seems intent on throwing whatever he can against the wall to see what will stick, and this Request for Order seeking a stay of the California Parentage action is just the latest example.”
Olivia Wilde is fighting hard for her children to stay in Los Angeles, but her ex-husband Jason Sudeikis wants them to return to Brooklyn. The actress argued that there is no reason for the children to live on the East Coast because her daughter Daisy never went to school there and her son Otis only spent one semester of kindergarten there.
