Despite Making $350M Fortune from Movies, Deadpool Star Ryan Reynolds Still Calls Himself a “Part-Time Actor”
Interest in Ryan Reynolds led Deadpool 3 is intensifying with every new update on the movie which is scheduled to hit the theaters in May of next year.
In recent weeks, fans have been made aware of the fact that Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) and Taylor Swift (Dazzler) will be joining Reynolds (Wade Wilson) in the movie that is set to fall under the Marvel Cinematic Universe umbrella for the first time.
The hype is only going to increase as we move closer to the release date and more details come to the fore. However, the movie’s most important face doesn’t appear to be very hands-on with his craft. At least that’s the vibe one gets when going through his LinkedIn page.

Ryan Reynolds’ LinkedIn Page Perfectly Epitomizes His Deadpool Character
Wade Wilson AKA Deadpool is an elite assassin and mercenary, who specializes in multiple forms of martial arts and is an expert swordsman (like Puss in Puss in Boots). And like Antonio Banderas‘ Cat protagonist – who has nothing to do with the MCU franchise, mind – Wilson is also a very laid-back and talkative character.
The laid-back persona appears to have taken over the LinkedIn page of Ryan Reynolds as well. The actor who spearheads the Deadpool franchise and has added high-profile projects like The Proposal, Spirited, and Red Notice among others on his resume across three decades calls himself a ‘Part-Time Actor’ on the platform.
His About section reads: “I’ve been acting for three decades now, which might be described as “a proven track record” or “delivering consistent results” on LinkedIn. I’m currently on a sabbatical to spend time with family and attempt being a 9-to-5 professional.”
A career that would be an envy for thousands of actors striving to make it in Hollywood is part-time work for the 46-year-old. As much as it might surprise many (and even annoy a few) there’s a good reason behind the 46-year-old’s stance. Spoiler: Reynolds is anything but laid-back like Wilson.
Why Ryan Reynolds Should Be Considered a Part-Time Actor
There’s a good case to make for considering Reynolds a part-time actor. The Deadpool star’s professional endeavors transcend the Hollywood hills as he has stakes in several other ventures.
His long list of movies might be the biggest contributor to his net worth which is estimated to be around $350 million but Reynolds has also made big bucks with other businesses. He held significant shares in Mint Mobile and Aviation Gin and would’ve racked up a lot of money following their sale to T-Mobile and Diageo respectively.
Another line in his About section on LinkedIn is: “In recent years, I’ve built what The Wall Street Journal recently called “a business empire.” Still trying to figure out what they meant by that.”
The most notable wheel of his “business empire” might be Welsh soccer club Wrexham AFC, which he owns alongside It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Rob McElhenney.
The duo have shown a great deal of attention in improving the club’s fortunes and are frequently seen in the stands supporting their team.
