Despite Problematic Behavior, Charlie Sheen “Was Always Kind” to Two and a Half Men Co-Star Melanie Lynskey
Charlie Sheen and the hit sitcom Two and a Half Men are inseparable. Sheen gained worldwide fame and love for his role in the show. He was also surrounded by an excellent star cast that made the show super memorable and charming. Alas, things went sour midway. Sheen and the makers of the show had a bitter falling out and he later left the show. The show’s ratings went down dramatically after his departure and fans missed him dearly.
On a positive note, despite his bitter falling out with the producers and actors of the show, Sheen maintained a cordial and sweet friendship with fellow co-star Melanie Lynskey. Lynskey had good things to say about the actor before and after his departure from the sitcom. He was reportedly always kind to her and the two shared an amazing bond that endured the upheavals of his messy exit.
Melanie Lynskey Praised Her Two and a Half Men co-star, Charlie Sheen
Despite many controversial headlines, Melanie Lynskey had nothing but good things to say about her former co-star Charlie Sheen. Melanie Lynskey worked with Charlie Sheen on the famous sitcom Two and a Half Men. In recent years, the actor has been embroiled in a number of controversies. Lynskey appeared frequently on the first two seasons of Two and a Half Men from 2003 to 2005. During this time, she worked with Charlie Sheen. However, she left the show’s main cast in 2005 to pursue other professional opportunities in the film industry.
She told Fox News in 2018 When asked about what it was like to work with Charlie Sheen she shared,
“I send him my best always and hope that he’s doing well. But… he was a very, very generous actor to work with and was always very kind to me.”
At the time when the actress decided to left the show there were many rumored that a feud with Charlie Sheen behind the scenes could have been what led Melanie Lynskey to left the show, this was not the case. They shared a good bond on the sets of Two and a Half Men.
She explained,
“But I just was like, This feels like if I keep doing this, then it will only be this. Not just time-wise. But because there was so much exposure, I knew I had to get out and start building up something else.”
The actress told Buzzfeed,
“When I met him, he was sober. Just a really, thoughtful, good person. He was so prepared. So, so, so prepared. He’s the only actor I’ve ever worked with I think who was off-book for every rehearsal. And there’s no point being off-book when you’re doing a sitcom because it gets rewritten after every time you rehearse it. But he would learn the lines so he could be present and feel it out properly.”
The actress also admits that she knows very little about Charlie Sheen’s feud with the show’s executives because she was not around during the last season.
The Reason Melanie Lynskey Quit Two And A Half Men
Despite leaving the popular comedy series in 2005 after two seasons, the actress admitted in an interview with Vulture that she had been planning her exit for almost a year. Melanie Lynskey started working sitcom Two and a Half Men in 2003. pop The popularity of the show was impossible to predict at the time and for Lynskey, it provided a regular chance to perform in front of a large audience. Although getting the show was a big break and it was a huge success, Lynskey wasn’t exactly getting paid good salary.
The actress shared,
“I went out for every single pilot. I got cast as a guest star on Two and a Half Men and I just thought, ‘Do a sitcom — that seems like fun.’ When the show got picked up, they asked me to be a regular; that was a harder decision. But everyone around me was like, ‘Wow, this is great, congratulations.’ So I decided to try it on.”
She continued,
“Also it was nice to be getting a paycheck. It wasn’t huge; it was literally the least they could possibly pay me. They really tried to talk me out of it. Finally, we came to an agreement where I could come and go. A couple of people were like, ‘You could be a millionaire.’ I get it. We’re going into the third season, and that’s the time you can ask for a raise. But it didn’t matter.”
Charlie Sheen was equally kind towards his co-star Melanie Lynskey. However Charlie Sheen claimed that having a role in the CBS sitcom had a negative impact on several cast members’ personal lives
