Celebrities are always in the public eye so when they slip up, it is infinitely harder to cover them up. Justin Timberlake is a living testament to that, as in 2019, he faced a drunken scandal with Alisha Wainwright, with whom he was seen getting a bit too cozy for a married man.
As soon as the pictures came out, it started wildfire-like rumors that Justin Timberlake was cheating on his wife of seven years at that point, Jessica Biel, who was taking care of their son Silas in their Los Angeles home. Many started to speculate whether Justin Timberlake had s*x with Alisha Wainwright behind Biel’s back and it got so bad that he had to issue a public apology.

According to photos obtained by The Sun, married Justin Timberlake got pretty handsy with Palmer co-star Alisha Wainwright in 2019 during a night out. The photos showed Alisha Wainwright casually resting her hands on the knees of the former NSYNC singer before he took hold of her hands.
They were photographed in a bar in New Orleans, presumably on a break from filming their movie. To make matters worse, Timberlake was spotted without his wedding ring on that fateful night, which made many speculate that the relationship between Wainwright and Timberlake was probably not strictly professional at that time. Although many onlookers at the bar suggest that it looked like Timberlake had too much to drink and was not walking straight, it still shocked fans that he would get himself in a situation like this in the first place.
A source who was at the bar told US Weekly exclusively that there was nothing going on between them but it did little to dispel the rumors.
“Several cast members were there and it was just a cast gathering. Nothing remotely romantic is going on with Justin and Alisha. The whole cast is shooting out there and like to hang out together. They were very much in public and nothing inappropriate was happening.”
While another source claiming that they were like “brothers and sisters” and were “definitely not hooking up” was a bit laughable, Wainwright’s executive also came to the front and said there was “no validity to this speculation.” The situation got so bad that Wainwright’s father got involved to give a statement about how Timberlake and his daughter were not involved and they were just shooting. Justin Timberlake issued an apology one month later, saying (via. US Weekly),
“A few weeks ago I displayed a strong lapse in judgment — but let me be clear — nothing happened between me and my costar. I drank way too much that night and I regret my behavior. I should have known better. This is not the example I want to set for my son. I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be. This was not that. I am incredibly proud to be working on Palmer. Looking forward to continuing to make this movie and excited for people to see it.”
Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel married in 2012 and have two sons (Silas and Phineas) together.
Alisha Wainwright Praises Justin Timberlake After The PDA Scandal
One would think that Alisha Wainwright would own up to the public scandal as well and praise Justin Timberlake for owning up to it. Nah-uh, in fact, she went on to praise the star’s contribution to the film and how he outdid himself with his performance while talking to Entertainment Tonight.
“This guy is a megastar, and he’s one of the most recognizable faces, I thought he was incredible in this movie. You’d be surprised how someone is in character. You can take away all the noise and just focus on what’s in front of you like, Let’s make a movie.”
Alisha Wainwright headed to Tulum after the scandal and was undone by the peaceful scenery of the Tulum landscape.
