The 47-year-old actress, Reese Witherspoon has filed for divorce from her husband of 12 years, Jim Toth. The former pair met each other in 2010 and find intense chemistry that eventually led them to get married in 2011. The duo shares a 10-year-old son named Tennessee who continued to live a peaceful life, at least that’s what everyone was believing until their divorce news hit the Internet.
The duo shared a joint statement on social media announcing their separation. While they did not mention the reason behind their divorce, they clarified, “Our biggest priority is our son and our entire family as we navigate this next chapter.”
The problems behind their divorce started to surface with insiders claiming that the former’s jam-packed schedule majorly affected their relationship which was crumbling due to ups and downs. The duo is steadfast on co-parenting their son together with reports by TMZ sharing that the actress would be submitting a permanent parenting plan regarding their child to be approved by the judge.
While their divorce is finally on the way, many are wondering about the assets they would walk away from after their separation.

Previously RadarOnline reported that she has accumulated a whopping $46 million worth of real estate assets.
A source told InTouchWeekly,
“The thought of splitting their combined $135 million fortune scares her [Witherspoon] too much to walk away.”
While reports were previously unsure of whether she signed a prenuptial agreement or not, TMZ reported that they had already planned a prenup before their marriage in 2011. As per Witherspoon, the agreement is valid and will provide “adequate and sufficient provisions” for their assets and debts.
