Now, more than a year later, a movie about the late actor’s wife Priscilla Presley is set to be released on October 27, 2023. The film Priscilla is based on the actress’ memoir Elvis and Me and has been produced by A24 studios. While a lot of people are excited to witness Priscilla Presley’s point of view of the story, some have criticized a certain fact.

Directed by Sofia Coppola, the movie Priscilla premiered at the 80th Venice Film Festival where it received a 7-minute standing ovation which made Presley emotional as reported by Variety. The actress revealed that the couple did not get intimate with each other when they first started dating.
The Dallas actress said:
“People think, Oh, it was s*x, it was this.’ Not at all. I never had s*x with him. He was very kind, very soft, very loving. But he also respected the fact I was only 14 years old. We were more in mind and thought and that was our relationship.”

However, netizens on social media platform X refused to trust Priscilla Presley’s claims as one of them named Jessie said: “Sooo y’all didn’t have sex until you turned 18? That level of respect?” Some fans came to the defense of Presley while others agreed with the fan Jessie, saying that Elvis Presley would have stayed away from Priscilla Presley if he truly respected her as she was only 14 when the G.I. Blues actor pursued her.
Elvis Presley’s Ex-Wife Priscilla Presley Praised Sofia Coppola
The movie Priscilla stars Jacob Elordi as Elvis Presley and Cailee Spaeny as the titular character Priscilla Presley. Although Priscilla Presley wasn’t in the conference panel for the movie during the film festival, she was watching the movie as a part of the audience. At the end of the movie, she gave an emotional tribute through tears as she said:
“It’s very difficult to watch a film about you and about your life and about your love. But Sofia did an amazing job. She did her homework. And I really put everything out for her that I could.”
Priscilla Presley also spoke about her late husband Elvis Presley during her tribute. She said that it was very difficult for her to explain to her parents that Elvis Presley was interested in her and also the reason why he was interested. She also revealed that between her and the Can’t Help Falling in Love singer, she was the listener in their relationship.
