Elizabeth Debicki can be seen as the golden queen Ayesha in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and 3, an unexpected role that allowed the actress to witness the massive superhero world. The Tenet star was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series for her work on The Crown at the SAG Awards, ad while while about her role in the MCU she said (via Entertainment Weekly):

“I did play a gold alien queen in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and 3. Didn’t see that on the bingo card!… I very much enjoyed myself! I enjoy when people think of you in a completely random way. That’s my favorite bit of being an actor.”

The Vita and Virginia star expressed surprise about how unpredictable her acting career is, and it led to many notable roles. From working in Christopher Nolan‘s film to being a part of James Gunn‘s project, Debicki has undeniably secured some of the most intriguing roles in the acting world.

The Crown star has been crowned the 2024 SAG Award for outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama series on Saturday. Elizabeth Debicki made her acceptance speech even more remarkable as she walked the stage barefoot! The Widows star ditched her shoes and expressed gratitude for being incredibly honored for her role.

“I don’t have any shoes on. Truly, I was not expecting this. People say that and I really am not. So I don’t really know what to say, so I’m just going to wing it.”

The actress not only expressed her heartful thanks for the win, but also acknowledged the nominees and said that being nominated next to them was “incredible”. Elizabeth Debicki also reflected on a week ago when she was suffering from the flu and lying in bed thinking about her first casting in a play. She’s truly thankful for her acting career which brings unpredictable and exciting roles.
