Variety has recently reported that a “WandaVision” spinoff starring Kathryn Hahn is in production at Disney Plus from Marvel Studios.
Jac Schaeffer, the lead writer and executive producer of WandaVision, is expected to return as writer and EP for the Agatha Harkness spinoff series. If it proceeds forward at the streaming service, it will be Schaeffer’s first project after signing an overall contract with Marvel Studios and 20th Century Television in May.
Despite the lack of detailed plot specifics, Hahn is set to reprise her role as Agatha Harkness in the series, which is described as a dark comedy by sources.
Hahn set to reprise her role as Agatha Harkness
Hahn first appeared in “WandaVision” as Agnes, Wanda and Vision’s nosy neighbor, before it was revealed that she was actually Agatha, a powerful witch. Agatha is proven to have survived the Salem Witch Trials in the Marvel comics and series, and is more than a match for Wanda, a.k.a. Scarlet Witch. Wanda confines Agatha at Westview by using her powers to force her to revert to her Agnes persona, as seen at the end of “WandaVision.”
Marvel Studios, like all other projects in production, is keeping quiet about this one. Keep an eye on Animated Times for updates, including whether or not the project will proceed forward. On Disney+, WandaVision is currently accessible to stream in its entirety.
