Disney Has Not Completely Given Up On She-Hulk Season 2

There’s great news for the She-Hulk fans as reportedly Disney is still evaluating the possibility of the second season of Tatiana Maslany-led series. According to a recent report by io9 and Comic Book Movie, Marvel and Disney have not completely abandoned the second season of She-Hulk after Tatiana Maslany’s comments on the show.

However, Tatiana Maslany’s claims about the future of the She-Hulk were valid, as Disney CEO Bob Iger has shown a green signal to the potential renewal of the show.

During an appearance on the Twitch game show, Codenames LIVE! –  The New Class, the actor spoke about the possibility of the second season of the She-Hulk: Attorney At Law. The Orphan Black star mentioned that the show had already blown the budget and Disney was not interested in going ahead with such an expensive project. She said-

“I don’t think so. I think we blew our budget, and Disney was like, ‘No thanks!”

A source close to the entire situation commented on how Bob Iger’s return back to Disney almost changed Marvel’s trajectory. As reported by Comic Book Movie, the source mentioned-

“Maslany’s comments are basically accurate, just lacking some context. That context is when CEO Bob Iger returned to Disney and changed much of Marvel’s direction, everything was reevaluated. So while Marvel works everything out, it’s not that a second season of the series has been completely abandoned. It just seems less likely than not at the moment.”

It has been speculated that Tatiana Maslamny will be reprising her character in the upcoming Marvel projects.

Tatiana Maslany On How Playing She-Hulk Reminds Her Of Her Orphan Black Days

Before becoming the face of She-Hulk, Tatiana Maslany was widely known for her performance in Orphan Black. The plot of the series revolves around Sarah Manning, a woman who comes across her clone while traveling on a train. The series talks about the dangers of human cloning in our society. it continued for five seasons and brought recognition to Tatiana Maslany. She was nominated twice and even won an Emmy for her performance in Orphan Black. 

During an interview with Screenrant in 2022, the actor spoke about her character in She-Hulk and even mentioned about how it reminds her of her Orphan Black days. She said-

“Obviously, Jen’s consciousness stays the same when she becomes She-Hulk. She never loses sense of who she is. But she does occupy two completely different bodies, so that was really fun to me. I’m always curious about identity and perception and aesthetics and all of that. To get to explore that feels like a bit of an extension of Orphan Black, for sure.”
