Upon its release, the animated superhero movie not only received positive reviews from critics and the audience but also became the fourth-highest-grossing movie in 2004. The movie was appreciated for its animation, screenplay, voice acting, action sequences, and more. The Incredibles is considered one of the best-animated superhero movies of all time, and fans were led to watch an extra scene via an incredibly genius tactic.

Easter egg from The Incredibles directed fans to an extra-deleted scene

The Incredibles follows the lives of Bob and Helen Parr Mr. Incredible and Elasticgirl, who have to hide their powers and live a simple life with their children. However, the family is forced into action to save the world, years after living a mundane life in the suburbs. The movie is regarded as one of the best-animated superhero movies of all time.

Now, fans have found an Easter egg, which, according to Allen Tsai, led to an extra deleted scene from the movie. He explains that a scene from the movie, where Mr. Incredible is reading Mirage’s phone number, which reads 787-7476,  is spelled out S-U-P-R-H-R-O for Superhero.

Tasai noted that during the DVDs’ release, the number was active, and callers heard Mirage direct them to the movie’s website for an extra deleted scene. UniLad reported,

It contained Mirage’s voice directing you to the movie’s website and told you to input the phone number on the site to get access to secret information (including a deleted scene not included on the DVD). The requirement to enter the phone number was subsequently removed, and the phone number no longer works.

However, according to Disney Movies & Facts Tumblr, the toll-free phone number was unregistered at the time of The Incredibles’ release.

The Incredibles grossed over $630 million at the box office, with the sequel grossing near about $1.2 billion globally. In a conversation with EW in early June 2024, Pete Docter shared about the future of Pixar and mentioned that he feels that the studio is in a golden place. He explained that after a lot of turmoil, they have exciting projects for multiple reasons, including the original stories, new looks, and technology.

When asked about his thoughts on Incredibles as a Disney+ series, he said,

It’s a super-entertaining world. Brad Bird and John Lasseter brought some great stuff that was original to that genre of family on the mundanity of having dinner, carpooling to school, or whatever, and superhero. That feels like it has more to play with.

He added that his priority will always be to focus on more diverse voices in filmmaking and noted that he has a great slide of the directors from seven years ago versus now. He concluded by saying that since there is so much new stuff out there and so many choices, the best are all over the place, so it’s a period of change, which he finds exciting.

The Incredibles can be streamed on Disney+.
