A war of words between A-listers soon cropped up on social media sites, especially on Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter), which also included him throwing himself into the ring. Even as the Swift-Trump controversy refused to die down, a few celebrities chose and spoke for their sides. Adding herself to the mix, Barbra Streisand offered a stern rebuke to the former president over one of his latest posts aimed at the singer.

Close on the heels of the first presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump wrapping up about a week ago, the 1989 singer once again offered her political stance and endorsed the former as her choice for president. At a time when this talk of support hit the headlines, the Republican candidate took to his Truth social media account on Sunday and declared, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”

Now, as this post gathered heat and momentum, Barbra Streisand, an EGOT winner, and A Star Is Born actress took to her X account and criticized Trump for his calling out of the billionaire pop singer. Calling him “immature”, her post also gathered attention with over half a million views as of now.

When Trump posts something as silly as I hate Taylor Swift, he sounds like a young woman who couldn’t get tickets to her show. But he is an immature and vengeful 78 year old man who should not ever become president of the United States.

The remarks by the legendary actress also seem to confirm her endorsement of Kamala Harris along the lines of Taylor Swift. Additionally, several comments under her post also supported her stance while others stood divided, closely resembling the social media scene that has prevailed over the past week.

In the past few days following the Eras Tour singer’s post, well-known names from Donald Trump to Hillary Clinton and Stephen King to Elon Musk have all attached themselves to form a larger debate as well as divide celebrities into two opposite circles. The current scenario began with Taylor Swift believing Kamala Harris to be a better fit for president.

Labeling the current vice-president as one who “fights for the rights” the singer had posted a lengthy Instagram post while undersigning it as “Childless Cat Lady”.

I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.

Soon after, it evoked a response from Elon Musk, who was subsequently lambasted by Hillary Clinton. Thereafter, Stephen King laid out his love for Taylor Swift’s music in a post on the micro-blogging site, which was again called on by Musk. And with Barbra Streisand being the latest, there is no telling if this A-list disagreement will meet an end anytime soon.
