Jackman mentioned that initially, he didn’t miss the character much and then one day, he was restless about it and wanted to get into the shoes of Wolverine as soon as possible.
I didn’t miss it for a long time. And then, literally, it came to me one day as I was driving down to the beach. I knew I wanted to do this. I literally stopped the car, got out and called Ryan.
When Reynolds inquired over a call if he was serious about it, Jackman confirmed that he was dead serious about playing Wolverine again. Through Deadpool & Wolverine, he got a wonderful opportunity to get back into the business as the iron-clawed superhero.
