“During the meetings, we actually use steak knives”: Vengeful Kelly Ripa Threw Mic Back at “Live” Producer for Almost Injuring Her on Live TV
Kelly Ripa is one of the most influential media personalities in the Hollywood industry. One of the major reasons behind it is her continuous efforts in bringing her unique charm to Live! show where she served as one of the hosts for over two decades. Even though she is known for her charismatic and open-minded personality, she just can’t tolerate her being mistreated in any way.
Protecting herself and taking revenge is one of her key qualities and she can’t let it subside easily. Recently, she was met with a rather sudden incident with her producer but she made sure that she gets her revenge!
Kelly Ripa Threw Mic at Her Live! Producer Who Did That First
On Tuesday’s episode of Live! With Kelly and Ryan, the longtime host, Kelly Ripa unveiled her vengeful side on-screen when she was almost met with an accident involving her show producer, Michael Gelman.
The show starred comedian Kal Penn as a guest alongside the 52-year-old TV host and Ryan Seacrest who was there to share about the upcoming Schoolhouse Rock! 50th Anniversary Singalong.
At one point in the show, the former asked the guest what would he potentially do as a performer to which he replied about his desire to play the King in Hamilton on Broadway. To complete his wish, the hosts lent him their platform with Ripa asking her producer for a mic.
However, Gelman instead threw the mic at her with Seacrest trying to shield her from getting any injury from the throw. While the actress successfully caught the microphone, she was furious with his act.
The 48-year-old soon after the incident stated, “That’s not gonna be a fun meeting after the show.”
After the comedian was done showcasing his skills, Ripa took the mic and threw it back at his producer.
The former White House staff member in the Barack Obama administration joked that neither of them was injured by throwing the mic at each other to which the actress replied, “During the meetings, we actually use steak knives.”
This is not the first time, the producer and the co-host have shown their peculiar behavior towards each other.
Kelly Ripa’s Not on Good Terms With Michael Gelman

The author reportedly was on bad terms with Live! longtime producer, Gelman.
Back in 2016, an insider told PEOPLE that “Kelly is actually not on good terms with Gelman.”
The source added that the reason behind the bad blood between them was the treatment he gave to her which was quite different from the way he treated her former co-host, Michael Strahan.
“Gelman doesn’t treat Michael bad and doesn’t talk to him the way he talks to Kelly,” the source added.
She has often taken a swipe at her producer however they have continued to work with each other even now.
