The recent celebrity to get behind a potential DC/Marvel Films crossover is Black Adam starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

An Intriguing Crossover

Dwayne Johnson has worked both the Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds and Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot in Netflix’s Red Notice. On the premiere night, Johnson replied when asked about the Wonder Woman/Black Adam crossover that he believes that there will be a potential crossover with Black Adam. He even added that as far as the present timeline is concerned, he turned to Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds echoing that they should have a crossover with the DC and Marvel Universe. Johnson added “We could be the ones to possibly make it happen, so we’ll see. We’ll see what happens down the road.”

With that being said, the last personality who pitched a DC/Marvel crossover was James Gunn, the director of The Suicide Squad and Guardians of the Galaxy. He mentioned that he would be really happy to direct a Groot and Harley Quinn movie. He echoed that “That would be exciting for me. And not only have I thought about that but I’ve actually talked about that to the heads of both Marvel and DC, but, you know, it’s like, they — you know, everybody’s open to everything, but whether anything would ever happen, who knows?” Gunn later added that the idea of bringing DC and Marvel together in one single project would be really intriguing for him.

The DC/Marvel Comics Crossover

James Gunn even highlighted how exciting the crossover could turn for Marvel’s Kevin Feige and Warner Bros’ Toby Emmerich. He dignified the crossover as something that every fan dreams about. Moreover, Gunn echoed that if ever this happens, the Berlin Wall of lawyers would need to work a bit to make the blast happen in theaters.

While both DC and Marvel Universe have had their respective crossovers in the comic world several times, it has never happened on the big screen.

With all being said, Johnson, in the end, revealed that he has visited Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s set while shooting for Black Adam last summer.
