Elon Musk challenged Mark Zuckerberg
Last Wednesday, Elon Musk took to his official Twitter account to declare that he is ready for a cage match if Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is, to which Zuckerberg replied stating that Musk should send him a location.
When media reached out to Zuckerberg’s representative to know if they were being serious about the cage fight, the representative said to BBC, “The story speaks for itself.” Later Musk replied by saying, “Vegas Octagon”. The Octagon is the competition mat and fenced-in area used for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bouts. The UFC is based in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Musk also joked, “I have this great move that I call ‘The Walrus’, where I just lie on top of my opponent & do nothing. I almost never work out, except for picking up my kids & throwing them in the air.” Musk, following his statement, shared short videos of walruses in which some people pointed out that these two could just be joking about the whole cage match.
Considering Zuckerberg, he has been training in mixed martial arts and has won jiu-jitsu tournaments recently.

He added, “This would be the biggest fight ever in the history of the world. Bigger than anything that’s ever been done. Whereas Elon Musk’s father, Errol Musk, spoke to The Sun recently and shared that his son is in a ‘no-win situation and explained, “The thing is if this crazy fight goes ahead, if Elon beats this guy, Elon will be called a bully, being so much heavier and taller. While if he loses, the humiliation would be total.”
According to reports, Musk has also started to train as he accepted an offer from legendary MMA fighter George St-Pierre to train him for his upcoming fight. St-Pierre is regarded as one of the greatest ever MMA artists who has won both welterweight and middleweight titles. He wrote on Twitter, “I’m a huge fan of yours and it would be an absolute honor to help you and be your training partner for the challenge against Zuckerberg.” Musk accepted the offer.

How did the Elon Musk-Mark Zuckerberg feud start?
According to reports, the chatter between the two tech billionaires fighting in a cage match started after Musk replied to a tweet that detailed Meta’s Twitter rival app- Project 92 or Threads that the company is working on. Musk replied, “I’m sure Earth can’t wait to be exclusively under Zuck’s thumb with no other options. At least it will be ‘sane’. Was worried there for a moment.”
A user pointed out to Musk that Zuckerberg knows jiu-jitsu, to which Musk replied that he is up for a cage match. Their rivalry dates back to 2016 when SpaceX was testing their Falcon 9 rocket at a launch site in Florida where the rocket exploded and destroyed Facebook’s AMOS-6 satellite.
Zuckerberg said at the time, “deeply disappointed to hear that SpaceX’s launch failure destroyed our satellite that would have provided connectivity to so many entrepreneurs and everyone else across the continent.” Two years later, Musk replied stating that it’s their fault for being an idiot adding that they did give them a free launch to make up for it and he thinks they had some insurance.
The two tech billionaires have also disagreed with one another on a variety of topics, including artificial intelligence and much more in the wake of the 2018 Facebook Cambridge Analytica scandal. Although it is difficult to tell whether they are sincere or not, if they are, there will undoubtedly be one epic battle to look forward to.
