Disney has a history of successfully adapting cherished animation flicks into live-action motion pictures. Unexpectedly, a retelling of the tale of the long-haired princess Rapunzel has been announced. The popular animated movie Tangled is reportedly set to be adapted into a live-action movie. Disney hasn’t even made an official announcement, but the rumor mill has started.

According to a recent rumor from Hollywood insider Daniel Richtman for One Take News, the Mouse House wants Baz Luhrmann to helm the live-action movie. The rumors are not confirmed nor denied by Disney or the filmmaker.

The film received numerous Oscar nominations, including Best Picture. The director is famous for his Red Curtain Trilogy, which includes the romantic comedies Moulin Rouge!, William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, and Strictly Ballroom.
