The Hollywood industry mourned the passing of singer-songwriter Lisa Marie Presley, also known as the daughter of legendary singer and actor Elvis Presley, at age 54. Her death was confirmed by her mother, Priscilla Presley, on Thursday. In the wake of the singer-songwriter’s death, legal battles over her finances remain unresolved, and questions remain regarding how she managed to lose the $100 million fortune her father left her.
It is reported that she passed away after being taken to a Los Angeles area hospital after suffering from cardiac arrest. In support of Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis biopic, Elvis (2022), Lisa Marie Presley recently walked the red carpet of the 80th Annual Golden Globe Awards 2023.
Lisa Marie Presley Passes Away At Age 54
Late Elvis Presley’s wife, Priscilla Presley, confirmed to PEOPLE that her only daughter Lisa Marie Presley passed away on January 12. She was rushed to the hospital after a possible cardiac arrest in Los Angeles. On Thursday evening, Priscilla Presley told the outlet,
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.”
“She was the most passionate, strong, and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time, there will be no further comment.”
According to a source with direct knowledge, Lisa Marie’s housekeeper discovered her unresponsive in her bedroom. Actor Danny Keough, the singer’s ex-husband, arrived home from taking the kids to school at about the same time and performed CPR until paramedics arrived.
As per PEOPLE, a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson confirmed that as soon as the paramedics arrived, they began CPR and transferred the singer to a hospital for “immediate medical attention.” While in the hospital, she was given full life support, but unfortunately, she did not survive.
Lisa Marie Presley Attended The 80th Annual Golden Globe Awards 2023
Late Elvis Presley’s only daughter Lisa Marie recently attended the 80th Annual Golden Globe Awards 2023 to support Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis biopic; she raved about Austin Butler’s performance, who portrayed ‘The King of Rock and Roll‘ in 2022’s Elvis. Her appearance occurred just two days before her cardiac arrest leading to her death.
The news deeply saddened and shocked her mother and kids. Before her fourth and final marriage to Michael Lockwood, Presley was married to Danny Keough, Michael Jackson, and Nicholas Cage. However, it is not believed that she benefited financially from her marriage to the King of Pop and or the Oscar winner. She had four children from two marriages, and one of her kids, Benjamin Keough, also died in 2020 at age 28.
The now-couple had been fighting in court, and Lockwood, a father of twin daughters Vivien and Finley, was seeking $40,000 a month in child support, claiming she had more money than she claimed in the court. A lawsuit was filed against Lockwood in 2018, alleging that he mismanaged her inheritance.
