“There’s no way to feel sad when you know you’re this blessed. Obviously, I think Greta should be nominated as a director, because what she did is a once-in-a-career, once-in-a-lifetime thing, what she pulled off, it really is. But it’s been an incredible year for all the films.”
While talking about how Barbie has managed to shift culture, Robbie said-
“We set out to do something that would shift culture, affect culture, just make some sort of impact. And it’s already done that, and some, way more than we ever dreamed it would. And that is truly the biggest reward that could come out of all of this.”
Barbie went on to amass a box office collection of $1.18 billion worldwide, making it the second-highest-grossing release in the history of Warner Brothers.
Why Lily Gladstone Could Beat Emma Stone In The Race For The Oscars?
Lily Gladstone won the SAG Awards in the Best Actress category for her phenomenal performance in Killers Of The Flower Moon. The Native American actor left behind talented actors, including Emma Stone for Poor Things, Annette Bening for Nyad, Carey Mulligan for Maestro, and Margot Robbie for Barbie. With Emma Stone leading in the best actress category this award season, Gladstone’s SAG Awards win could change the picture.
With Lily Gladstone securing the SAG Award, the competition for the Oscars has become tough for Emma Stone. The Certain Women actor was praised for her performance in Killers Of The Flower Moon, winning the SAG awards and Golden Globes. Emma Stone, on the other hand, secured the Critics’ Choice Award and a BAFTA, along with the Golden Globes. With such touch competition, fans believe that Lily Gladstone could leave behind Emma Stone in the race for the Oscars.
